“Decent place for a stay in Downtown Toronto”
Before I left for Toronto I read various reviews that were quite critical. But my experiences during a 6-night stay were very favourable: the check-in staff were friendly & helpful, the room was great (& quiet), the food was good, & the location ideal, being on the Airport Express run & the GrayLine Tour Bus run, and providing easy access to most downtown attractions.
“Had a great time”
Wonderful hotel close to all the nightlife in Toronto
“Would stay at the Metropolitan again in a heart beat”
Our only issues were the GPS to the hotel couldnt pick up signals because of the tall buildings. Make sure you have directions from another source. Be prepared if parking car overnight to pay and the parking garage is quite large with many levels and hard to maneuver your vehicle through. Just drive extra slow and cautiously. Hard to believe I paid WAY TOO MUCH for a bloody mary in the hotel bar and it wasn't even that great. But all the employees were wonderful and the rooms were quite cozy and comfortable. I had a lovely view of the CN Tower and other beautifully lit buildings close by.
“Impressed”
Everything about the Expedia experience was positive. From confirmation through checkout this was a very professional experience.
“perfect hotel”
everything has been perfect. the room was big and really clean, check in and check out were quick, there was a free breakfast too!the location is central but out of noises of times square. the metro was really close (at the end of the block). you can have a beautyfull view from the roof. tha staff was really kind. free wi fi in the room. the only problem was the air condition that made some noises, but although it was the end of july we didn't use becouse the room temperature was perfect.
“Excellent value”
Although the rooms could be updated, particularly the bathrooms, this hotel offers great value. Rooms were comfortable, quiet and beds were wonderful. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet twice, and thought the quality and presentation of food was most enjoyable. Service was friendly and helpful. Close to University and downtown, would definitly stay here again.
“very good hotel”
very good hotel close to Eaton's centre and lots of shopping
“Quality at a good price”
A quality Hotel within walking distance of downtown and the Universities. Large and very comfortable room. Very clean. Restaurant was very good. I will stay here again. The only issue I had was that when I checked in (expecting to stay 5 nights) I was told that I was booked for only 1 night and that the Hotel was fully booked on the remaining nights. Having paid (Expedia) in advance for 5 nights I was a little annoyed. By the following morning, the problem was solved, but I was never given an explanation.
“Very impressed”
spacious, elegant and courteous staff. luxurious bedding and furnishings create a very enjoyable experience. tasteful and colourful asian accents and art throughout. great location and very good restaurants (asian) close by. choice of price levels can satisfy many budgets.
“Great value and a Downtown Gem”
My wife and I recently stayed at this property and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great downtown location near Bay St Business district, the new Opera House, and Eaton Centre Shopping. We arrived in late evening and ordered a Cheese Plate "to die for" from Room Service. Overall the room was clean and a good size, the bed was extremely comfortable and the price was RIGHT !!! I would highly recommend the Metropolitan Hotel for business or leisure travel.
