"Scary place! No bathroom ventilation therefore paper peeling off the walls. Ceiling tiles brown and dingy. Place resembled a crack house neighborhood. Spent only 1 night. Woke up to police cars the following morning! Got the hell out of there. Place generally smells of manure, but I saw no cows or other livestock. You get what you pay for. I have learned. Never again."

"Housecleaning came around too early on day 2 of our stay (prior to 9 am). Day 3 we took down the 'not ready' sign by 8:45 am and again they did not service the room. At least I was able to get fresh towels and wash cloths at front desk in the evening. I understand there are a lot of rooms to clean, but we were out of the room pretty early for vacationers. It's the only aspect of the 4 day stay that was disappointing."

"The best part of this stay was the parking. The staff were nice enough. Checking in was easy enough. I found a used towel behind the bathroom door, a hand towel that was definitely used and the bed was squeaky and had a very firm mattress, did not make for a comfortable stay. It's definitely dated, could use an upgrade. I didn't have breakfast there."

"After I paid for a none refundable reservation for a room. My wife checked out reviews, she does this when we travel. When she showed me the negative reviews she found, I became concerned since I could not get my money back. Well as it turns out my worries we not necessary. We travel often and have experienced both good and bad hotel experiences, The Capitol Hotel is a very respectable recommendable business. Everything met our usual expectations. It will be where we stay whenever we go to Hartford. From room cleanliness, to great shower water pressure, to great friendly customer service, and very good breakfast included in the room cost. Five stars all the way."

"Room had no Microwave - no mini fridge - no toiletries - Room had been a King Deluxe previously - then converted to a standard double. Stay in Boston, MA (Red Roof Woburn) was same type booking and had all expected amenities - Red Roof Chain now off my list of acceptable places to stay when I travel in the future. Too many better choices in same standard Class rooms to choose from "

"Sink is clogged. The hallway smells like smoke which i informed the staff and told us it is because of people smoking outside the exit. Beds and the room are clean. Ac working right. Bed is of course not as comfortable at hime and could not sleep well."
