“Best Mauritius Hotel”
This was one of the best hotels we've visited. We had 5 star treatment and loved everyminute. The only downfall of the stay was weather was bad but the staff at the hotel catered for evening entertainment and the food was fantastic despite us being vegetarian.
“Ignore the 3 star, it's definately 5 star service and food”
Just returned from the most relaxing week we have ever had. Our rooms were right next to the beach and the service and food were amazing. It really is all inclusive if you stay at the hotel with plenty of choice of food and drink available virtually all day long, but the trips organised by the hotel are excellent value for money - don't miss the all day trip to the watefall by speedboat! Be prepared to be very lazy!
“A Memorable Experience!”
Just back from two weeks at the Silver Beach and can't speak highly enough of the hotel and it's staff. Everyone was most helpful , polite and they just could not do enough to please you. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone. Having read some of the not-so-good reviews we were a little anxious about going there , but we need not have worried it was great!
“Absolutely Fabulous!”
My wife and I wanted a November break with guaranteed sun, relaxation, hassle-free, and a measure of interest and culture. Mauritius gave us all of this and there is little we could fault about the Silver Beach Hotel. We have never stayed all-inclusive before but it seemed right for this type of holiday. If not out on a trip, inevitably you are reliant on the hotel for drinks etc, and it makes sense not to have to be always putting hand in pocket. The choice and quality of food was excellent. Evening entertainment was different every night and provided by a selection of local musicians and dancers. All-inclusive also gets you stuff like a free, clean beach towel every day. The beach was perfect for soaking up the sun, with a constant and refreshing sea breeze. The coral reef offers great snorkelling, and the beach was also the departure point for all sorts of trips that were on offer, including the Isle des Cerfs where there is paragliding and a golf course. There is no resort as such, but a 25 minute walk along the flower-lined road gets you to the village of Trou dEau Douce. We sat in an empty bar with wonderfully panoramic views across the bay. The local church has the deepest blue stained glass imaginable. Importantly, at all times we felt very safe both locally and throughout the island. If you are into clubbing this is not the place for you; but if you want to chill and glimpse a fascinatingly different world, it could be what you are looking for.
“great place”
we have just returned from a 12 night stay at the silver beach.we were really happy with the hotel. the staff were really friendly, nothing too much trouble. food was excellent.5 nights out of 7 it was an a la carte 4 course meal.the other 2 was buffet.we never had the same meal twice. the pool was lovely despite being a bit small. beach ws lovely and clean, although the coral was a bit rough under foot it wasn't difficult to get in the sea. overall despite the weather(it was the rainy season) we had a great holiday here.
“Highly Recommended”
Just came back from a great holiday at Silver beach The all inclusive feature is a boon. Really nice variety of drinks and food. You will never know hunger during your stay. Even if you are vegitarian you can easily ask for a special meal and they will happily oblige. Full marks for food. All the staff are extremely friendly. The Hotel comes with a beach... but its not ideal. The beach is a bit small. If you are not a good swimmer, not the beach for you. But the hotel has got a good choice of snorkeling, paddling and rowing equipment if you are up for it. One issue i have is with the hotel rooms. Though they are cleaned every day, it did not feel all that clean. Especially as you come back with sand on your trousers and shoes, you would like the room to be cleaned a bit better than that. But its not a big issue and you can easily ignore because of all other facilities in the hotel. Each night the hotel has a special theme for entertainment. That was the highlight of the day. There was singing, dancing and great fun!! Thoroughly enjoyed it The hotel taxis are not the ideal ones. I was surprised to find a couple of them totally unaware of the best places to visit! having said that we did have a good time visiting good places using the hotel taxis. You have to bargain a hell of a lot though!! To summarise, great hotel, great people, great food and great location. Highly recommended
“Very good value”
This hotel has the best food we have ever experienced on an all inclusive holiday. The staff are all well trained, courteous and helpful. The room was comfortable and extremely clean. The only slight disappointments were a) The swimming pool was very cold and centrally situated. We only ever saw two people use it. and b) The beach at the hotel was rocky and it was quite difficult to get into the sea.
“Perfect week in a excellent hotel.”
The hotel staff were alway prepared to go the extra mile. Very good service in perfect location.
“Excellent 3 star hotel”
If you can afford a 5 star stay there but if you can't this 3 star hotel will surprisingly meet your expectations. Small and friendly, quiet beach front location, superb cuisine and good service. A little gem!
“A winner”
The hotel isn't the most amazing one in terms of design and room furniture but really that was the least of our worries when we were there (mid-November 2011). The staff is super nice and friendly. The all-inclusive formula is amazing: awesome food and service, and drinks are included all day long. The pool isn't amazing but who needs it when you have the beautiful beach just 10 metres away from your room. You can have a delicious breakfast then roll down to the beach, roll back up for lunch, back down again for a nap and up again for dinner! You can also do some canoeing, snorkling and pedalo-ing! The hotel cab drivers are nice and friendly. Cab fares are not cheap but well that's the way it is. The hotel also proposes some great excursions, the South one is worth it (swim with the dolphins, Chamarel, Trou aux Cerfs etc.) and so is Port Louis (along with Pamplemousse botanical gardens and Eureka). The hotel is also a 10-minute walk away from Trou d'Eau Douce where you can do a bit of shopping and Centre de Flacq is accessible by bus for 25 Rupees. The area is really nice and quiet. It is a bit windy there but to be honest this is very welcome as it can get quite hot on the beach (beware of sun burns!). All in all, I highly recommend this hotel.
