“Awesome place in Tsukuba”

The hotel was pretty good. Very clean and comfortable. Next to the mall, so a lot of good places to eat and explore.

“Handy position”

This is a business western-style hotel, seemingly quite new, with only one drawback (as most Japanese hotels) the rooms are compact. Couples in a double room will be in close proximity for the length of their stay. Coffee sachets are available in the lobby. Good restaurants are around the corner as is an excellent top quality shopping area (similar to a mall). Taxis, bus station and Tsukuba Express rail station are 2 minutes walk. This is not a JR line station. With JR rail pass recommend taking the bus to Mito and then JR express north to Sendai and Matsushima (one of the most picturesque smaller towns in Japan). Hotel is good value for money.

“Daiwa Roynet in Tsukuba”

The hotel was more than adequate for the purpose -- a few days' stay during an academic conference. The room was clean, and the staff offered courteous and efficient service. The stay would have been more enjoyable, if the hotel had access to a better food service, particularly for breakfast. The French restaurant located in the same complex was good for the evening meal, but only a Japanese resetaurant, with mediocre food, was available for breakfast.
