Great value western-style hotel in downtown Osaka, on the edge of Doyama. Within 5 mins walk from the JR station, so a great base to explore the area. Plenty of restaurants and bars, this place is in the middle of the Kita area and all it's nightlife. The hotel is clean, rooms are tidy with air conditioning, great value for money.
Since hotels in Kyoto were quite expensive, we limited our stay there and stayed 3 nights in Osaka. This allowed us to explore the city including the famous Namba/Dontonbori nightlife. Our goal was to be near the train station for easy day trips to Nara and Hiroshima plus Miyajima island. It was only a 10 minute walk, though it can be confusing once you are underground in the shopping area to find the right section of the station.
The hotel was perfectly acceptable with fast WiFi and quiet at night. Even though we could see an adult club across the street from our window, with the windows closed we slept well. We used the washer and dryer and were told the detergent was automatic so no need to buy or add it ourselves. Of course the room is small but if you are OK with that then I would recommend it as a value priced convenient option.
Tiny room, but clean and having all you need, and that's what you can get at this price in central Umeda. It's very close to airport bus, JR and subway station. Walking distance to many department stores, restaurants and Umeda sky building. Comparing to other expensive 5 star hotels nearby, Hearton is a great choice if you only want to spend less than 200 dollars a night.
