“Great stay”

Great stay glad we had a car as it was a walk to get anywhere but just what we needed a place to rest our heads!

“Ideal motel close to station for travel to Munich”

We stayed as a family of 5 with teenagers at New Year en route from skiing in Innsbruck to the Dunkerque ferry. With 3 people in one room (2 in other# we were given split level accommodation on 4th #top# floor with master bedroom up a set of stairs and another living room below with fold out double bed with bathroom #shower only# off lobby. Plenty of storage space. Both rooms had a TV to watch Premiership and Bundesliga matches on cable. Rooms are high quality and very good value reflecting its location. We didn't eat breakfast in hotel but the kids enjoyed the sauna in the basement. The Chinese restaurant next to hotel was Ok with all you can eat evening buffet at about EUR 14 . Few other places to eat nearby but this could have been due to the holidays. Taufkirchen is not a destination in its own right. It's a new settlement #think Basingstoke but much smaller) so devoid of any touristic charm. Expensive underground car park at hotel but you can park in a few car parking spaces near the hotel #less than 10#. About 70m away is an off street car park for about 16 cars #free#. There is also a covered car park nearby #50m# with barriers. Trains #S3# depart every 20 mins and take 20 mins to centre #Ostbahnhof, Marienplatz and main train station are all on the S3 line#. Buy a family ticket for up to 5 people from the hotel for EUR10.50? for use all day until 6am following morning. Or buy single ticket at station ticket machine for EUR2.50 .

“Recommended hotel!”

The hotel was great! Really good location, only 5 mins from the train and then you are in central Minich in 15 minutes. Room size was great, lovely decor throughout the hotel. The area was very quiet so got plenty of sleep! Staff were very friendly, very much recommend this hotel!

“Excellent service, comfort & location”

Stayed at the HI Untergaching for 3 nights as part of a city break in Munch. The hotel is only a 7 minute walk to the nearby Taufkirchen S train station, with trains into the city centre every 15 minutes. (All public transport in Munich is of a very high standard and extremely efficient) Room was very comfortable, with the bedroom upstairs, and superb views of the Austrian Alps. Breakfast buffet was of a high quality but expensive at 19Euro's. The Expedia room rate we paid however was superb value for money and we'll definitely be returning.

“Great Munich area hotel!”

We reserved two rooms and requested that we have joining rooms and that was done. The staff at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. They spoke very good English(our German is not so good). They gave us information about surrounding areas and helped us to exchange money. The hotel lobby was very spacious and very well decorated. The rooms were very spacious as well and very comfortable. The train station is very close by and there are good stores and cafes nearby to buy food. We really enjoyed our stay. We were there on New Years Eve and really enjoyed all the fireworks. We would recommend this hotel again. Also, I was looking for a laundromat and they directed me to a ironing room that I could use. That was very convenient.

“Very comfortable and excellent value for money”

The room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not included and was rather expensive, but there is a very good cafe/bakery nearby. A kettle in the room would have been welcome. The hotel is located in a pleasant, modern suburb and is reasonably close to the S-Bahn station at Taufkirchen. All things considered, a good place to stay for a visit to the city.

“Great Stay”

The hotel was clean and presentable. The staff at reception were very welcoming, and spoke English well. The hotel restaurant was good, however I ordered a steak "well done", after 2 attempts it came out rare. They were most apologetic, and gave us a discount. The bar staff were friendly. Our room was double storey, which was a nice touch. The location of the hotel was good, as we wanted something just out of the city center, and was only 10 min walk from the train station. there was also a carpark which costs €10 per night, which is cheap.

“Very nice hotel - would definitely stay there again.”

The hotel was great. My only complaint would be the air conditioning. Our room had two stories and the air conditioning unit was on the upper level, which meant the lower level was not as cool as we would have liked it to be. The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Great bar, good food.

“Convenient, clean, friendly”

Very comfortable, clean, well-run hotel, conveniently located a few blocks from the S-Bahn. S-Bahn line takes you directly to downtown Munich, with no transfers necessary to reach Marienplatz or Isartor. Surrounding neighborhood is a peaceful mix of residential and business (bakery, supermarket, and post office are only a block away). Outside and garage parking available.

“Fabulous hotel, would go back”

Hotel room was amazing. Close to train station. Front desk had deals on train ticket travel. Very friendly staff. We went for Oktoberfest and they had maps and tips on how to get there from the hotel.
