“Sonnenalp you'll see me again.”
Great staff, awsome hotel, the breakfast is to die for. They're fondue restaurant Swiss Chalet is expensive, but good.
“Spring Break in Vail, 2012”
Excellent customer service when it came to the staff. The room had all the amenities, but we found out that it had no AC. We traveled during spring break which for this time of year, it was a little warmer than usual, so the room was a little to warm for us. We had to open up windows to let in some cool air, from time to time. This was actually really nice. late night room service food, was average. Breakfast in the morning was the best. It is definitely a true breakfast buffet. It has an awesome game room, if you are traveling with small children. We would definitely stay here again. My family loved it!
“What a fabulous Hotel”
Each room is unique and incredibly comfortable. The hotel staff is very attentive and friendly at all times. The restaurants are very good and the Spa is amazing.
“Vails Best”
We will make this hotel an every summer vacation. Service was above and beyond.
“very high class hotel”
enjoyed our stay even thou there was a room mixup upon arrival but was quickly corrected and some "sweets" were given to us later in the day. nice that bicycle rental were included in the room rate.
“LOVED IT!!”
We fell in love with Vail immediately and the Sonnenalp does not disappoint. It is very centrally located and the exterior is just like a Swiss hotel, only a few stories high with flower-filled baskets overhanging from the balconies. Our room was lovely and immaculate (as were all public areas) - all modern touches but still managing to retain the charm of an Alpine hotel - no mean feat! We had 2 Queen beds, big flat-screen TV, a huge bathroom with 2 sinks, bath, shower, etc, and a balcony overlooking the pedestrianised street below. We ate breakfast in the conservatory - too much to choose from at the buffet and all fresh and beautifully presented! We also ate in 2 of the Hotel's restaurants - Bully Ranch (good for burgers etc) and the Swiss Chalet (good for Fondues etc). Both nights after our meal we sat in the King's Club bar to have a drink and relax. There were 2 excellent singers/ musicians to entertain us and it was a nice way to round off an evening. The spa area looked beautiful but the sun was shining so the only part we did use was the gorgeous outdoor pool and loungers. We would not hesitate to recommend the Sonnenalp to anyone visiting the area.
“Wonderful Hotel”
My wife and I travel a lot, and we've stayed at more luxurious hotels that were pricier, but we never stayed at a better all-around hotel than the Sonnenalp. I won't reveal all the details of the way the hotel went above and beyond the call of duty in terms of service, but suffice to say it was very thoughtful and appreciated. We were there during off-season, so I'm not sure how attentive they might be during ski season, but my hunch is service is still top notch. The room (a junior suite with a creekside view) was wonderful. I sat on the deck just enjoying the view and rush of the creek. I can't imagine there being a better place to stay in Vail than the Sonnenalp.
“very friendly staff and a great place”
very nice place; we appreciated especially the many little wys in which the satff made us feel at home, including the cookies at night time!
“Beautiful hotel!”
This European style hotel is very beautiful! We got upgraded to the next sized suite, too! We will definitely be coming back!!
“Just beautiful!”
The Sonnenalp is a beautiful, comfortable, relaxing resort. The Concierge was extremely helpful. She suggested a sight seeing trip to Leadville, CO that was just beautiful. She was also helpful with every aspect of our trip. Every person in the hotel was eager to help and so friendly. The room was clean, the breakfast buffet was the best! I normally won't eat at a buffet, but this was just perfect. By far the best hotel/resort we have ever been to.
