“At the slope, yet less crowds.”
Resort is at the far west end of the ski slope with its own lift. Therefore, very convenient for skiing, yet avoids the worst of the crowds. Hotel shuttle makes frequent rounds to the other major Vail locations. The ski concierge service is also excellent and makes the skiing experience less of a hassle. Service, room and amenities are excellent except for the WiFi service where our room was located (poor reception which they claimed they were trying to fix). Be aware of the $18/day parking fee (without valet service in winter of 2012) and $25/day "resort fee." The mandatory fee should simply be part of the room fee, but then that would make them seem $25 a day more expensive on Expedia, etc. Yes, other hotels do the same - still is a sneaky way to get more $ from you since you have to look hard for the small print.
“A great hotel in Vail.”
Pool and hot tub were awesome. Just the right temperature. It was great being so close to the Cascade lift. Be prepared to ski a black mougul hill if you want to ski back to the resort. Otherwise you can download from the top of the Cascade lift to get back to the resort. The shuttle service is great. Made it easy and quick geting to the village. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys skiing and a relaxing pool environment.
“Great place”
The hotel was excellent. I ordered a room with a king and when arriving found that my room had two queens. I called down to the front desk and within 5 minutes the bellman was in my room moving my stuff to a room with a king. The service was excellent after that fact.
“What a way to begin a skiing experience!”
This trip ranks as one of the best experiences of our travels! Everyone was very helpful and knowledgable. Not having skiied before, my wife and I found that with the ski storage and lift right there made us feel very comfortable to get up mountain to Eagles Nest where we could practice. We could take the gondola back to Lionshead and catch the hotel shuttle back to the storage part of the hotel. The staff were quick to help us with our skis so we did not have to carry them down. What a service!!! The spa and the outdoor pool and hot tub with separate fires going were heaven especially after a day of learning how to ski! The hotel is really 5 star in our opinion, and we only could be there with the package pre Christmas to the 26th pricing! We had a great time, and if we could we would definitely go back to the Cascade! We liked the Atwater Resturant and the nice welcome from Mr. Waxman! Best wishes and have fun!!
“Incredible resort....10 stars!”
An incredible resort. One of, if not THE best place to stay in Vail. Friendly and efficient staff and concierge service with all the amenities and luxury one could ask for.
“Best Luxury Ski Resort in Vail”
The hotel was top notch in every category. Planning to go back next year.
“Superb access for skiers”
1 - True ski-in and out. The chairlift dedicated to the resort basically gets you about 1/3 of the way up Vail Lions Head area - allowing you to ski to other lifts and quickly get to the back bowls. There is a dedicated trail back to the hotel as well (although some of the reservation staff don't seem to know about it). 2 - Ski concierge is outstanding - boot storage has air dryers for all boots so they are ready to for your next day. You tell them your number and they put your skis outside about 30 feet away from the lift. 3 - The expedia booking put us into the condo units. Very spacious, separate bedroom, etc... Be aware that the condo units are a 5 minute walk from the main building. Fortunately they have their own hot tub and pool which we thought was better than the main lodge. On call shuttle was very, very fast. Always less than 5 minute wait. 4 - If you are in a condo unit - a covered parking space is included at no extra charge! This is not listed on Expedia and we took a shuttle from the airport instead of renting a car. Without a car you can't get groceries without calling a taxi. 5 - The main restaurant and pub had very nice food at a decent price (for Vail). 6 - Shuttle into Vail runs every 20 min to 1/2 hour. Fairly convenient.
“Vail's finest”
the only complaint I have is the noise in the hallways. I realize that this is hard to control. People were letting their kids run up and down the halls at all times of the night and grown people were talking so loud and screaming up to 1:30 am at night. People just don't have any consideration for others. We love the hotel and will come back with no problem. The concierge service was fantastic and everything they planned for us ran real smooth. They were always helpful.
“Better than expected”
My wife and I chose the Vail Cascade for our honeymoon and could not have been happier. The resort had woeld class service and excellent amenities. I would definetley recommend this as a destination if you are traveling to Vail.
“Everything great!!”
