“Out of the way, charming small hotel.”
Friendly service, off the beaten path. Rooms were small but clean. Wonderful breakfast.
“great little spot”
lucky enough to have balcony - canal view. easy walk from bus station about 5 mins. great little bar next door, but our room wasn't noisy with window shut. a good spot to base yourself in Venice, most major sights are about 15 mins walk.
“great hotel”
hotel just 10 mins down a side canel from the bus station great if you are an independent traveler carring bags. rooms not to big but very bright and light. very clean.staff good. breakfast very good fresh fruit, chesse, meat in fact just what you want to set you up for the day. lots of good priced places to eat 10-15 mins walk away. We had a great time.
“well placed and comfortable”
rooms not very big but comfortable and friendly staff.
“Good value, close to transport & quiet location”
A pretty hotel situated on a quiet canal. Pleanty of choice at the breakfast buffet and helpful staff. Clean rooms although not very big. The bed was huge and very comfortable. We found the location convenient, close to bus station, trains and vaparetto. We would be very happy to stay there again and can't wait to go back,4 days wasn't long enough . Venice is beautiful, we had great weather and enjoyed every minute.
“A room with a view”
The Al Sole is really easy to find from The Piazzale Roma - this is a great advantage in Venice! We had a lovely big room with bathroom and separate shower-room.Our room overlooked the nearby canal - worth paying a bit extra for. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly and spoke English. There was a good choice of food for breakfast.
“We would certainly go back to this hotel”
Lovely hotel retaining many original features, very clean and comfortable with extremely polite and helpful staff. As is usual in Europe the breakfast was continental but was very nice with enough choice. The hotel doesnt currently have a working bar which would have been nice but there is a nice little cafe/bar right next door and several restaurants in the immediate area. This hotel is within easy walking distance of the bus station, the vaporetta stops and the Grand Canal. Our trip was a surprise for my partners 60th Birthday he was delighted with this hotel and I was very pleased indeed with the excellent choice I had made.
“Wonderful hotel in great location”
Located on a quiet canal close to both bus and railway station, the hotel, a converted palace is ideally situated. It looks beautiful. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfy. The breakfast buffet has plenty of choice though the weather didn't permit us to breakfast on the terrace. Take the concierge's advice about restaurants - the ones recommended provided good food at reasonable prices. There's a great local bar right next door.
“Fantastic Hotel”
Excellent hotel in all respects; friendly and helpful staff, always available, english speaking; great location (near bus terminal), easy access; quiet; canal side rooms, some with small balcony; what more can we say.....stay there!!
“Charming and comfortable”
We had a lovely experience at this charming hotel and would not hesitate to stay again, though next time we'll pack lighter -- getting there with heavy suitcases was a bit difficult and we did get slightly lost but I had a map I had printed from the hotel's website and quickly got us back on track (we were staying in Italy for an extended period). Our room was clean and we thought rather spacious given all the usual complaints we'd heard of tiny hotel rooms throughout Italy and we were quite comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was your typical fare and the staff were all incredibly helpful. We were not sorry we picked this hotel and would certainly stay again!

Area:
San Polo, Venice, Italy: Home of the Rialto Market, San Polo is the busiest sestiere (district) after San Marco. For local colour, great little shops, bars and cafes, the Rialto market area is a must. Dining on the Grand Canal next to the iconic Rialto Bridge is a romantic Venetian cliché. Near the bridge, the Ca Pesaro is home to the Museum of Modern Art while 16th-century masterpieces are on show at the Frari church and Scuola Grande di San Rocco.
