“I feel like a Princess”
We took our two girls aged 18 and 11 to Venice for the first time. When we arrived at the Danielli the girls just repeated 'wow" and "I feel like a Princess". The hotel is stunning. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely but we did feel that the restaurant was very overpriced.
“Opulent old world elegance”
Stunning Venetian Palace. Rooms are exotic, royal and the view from the roof-top restaurant is the BEST in Venice and maybe Italy as well. Staff are courteous and the concierge is extremely helpful.
“Great Hotel Great position”
I first heard of this hotel on a television program about the best hotels in the world. It was very highly recommended. I had wanted to go there ever since then. It was very grand and the service excellent especially the Conceriage, he recommended and booked a very nice restaurant for our first evening as their own was fully booked. We were there with family which included a baby, the rooms were beautiful and large with a cot for the baby. The lounge/bar area and reception was very nice.
“Truly Venice”
Expensive, but worth it.
“better than we thought!”
We knew the Danieli had a lot to live up to so oddly we were prepared to be disappointed. Check in was longer than expected but we were upgraded to a magical room with our own balcony on a canal always full of gondolas. the room was decorated like a jewel box. the concierge and bell boys were very helpful. we were treated like princesses in the lobby atrium and bar. we will pick this hotel again. it seemed more fun than the Gritti Palace where we had just stayed for four nights. worth the splurge!
“Time capsule!”
What can I say, the Danieli has a great reputation and I was not disappointed. We truly enjoy our stay at this hotel. One minor issue was no WI-FI internet connection (only network cable available). ...but not being able to check my email was probably another positive thing of my visit at Danieli.
“If you haven't been to the Danielli - you haven't lived! Wonderful.”
This was a wonderful experience. All the staff we came face to face with were so professional, so friendly and we had no problems. We would love to go back there - just for another taste of sheer luxury! But shhhhhhh! perhaps it would be better to keep quiet. We don't want the world to want to go there - when we are there! Magical!
“Simply the Best!”
The hotel has a great location, great staff and the rooms are very comfortable. We had a great experience here. We can't wait to go back.
“Absolutely beautiful”
For the real Venice experience, there is nothing like driving up to the Danieli in a private water taxi and being helped off the boat by the hotel staff. Upon entering, it's like being transported into another world. The furnishings and detailing is amazing. Our rooms were beautiful as well and the beds very comfortable. Location was amazing, right on the grand canal and just around the corner from St Marks square. What a great way to see Venice for the first time!
“Worth the splurge”
My wife and I lived for a year in Vicenza a few years ago. Vicenza is only 45 minutes from Venice so we traveled there often and are very familiar with the town. Being so close however, we never stayed in Venice. We decided that for our return visit this spring we'd splurge a little and stay in the Danieli where we used to go for a drink on their rooftop terrace once and a while. While expensive for your average traveler, we enjoyed our three night stay at the Danieli more than any of our recent travels. The service staff were polite, gracious, and accomodating. The hotel itself is magnificent. The rooftop terrace provides a wonderful place to enjoy a drink while gazing over the lagoon. The location could not be better and provides immediate access to Piazza San Marco as well as an easy walk to Rialto or Castello. The consierge informed us of their partnership with their sister hotel, the Excelsior on Lido. The hotel provides a free water taxi shuttle to the Excelsior every 2 hours where you can take advantage of their beach and facilities. We have nothing bad to say about this hotel.

Area:
San Marco, Venice, Italy: San Marco (St Marks) is quintessential visitors Venice. The Piazza San Marco, famous for its pigeons, campanile, basilica, Palazzo Ducale (Doges Palace) and expensive cafes, is unmissable. The waterfront views are legendary and more gondolas depart from here than anywhere else in the city. In season the Piazza teems with day trippers though just a block or two away streets are quiet and offer more museums and palaces to explore.
