“amazing place”

fantastic service and very friendly helpful staff. the room was thoroughly serviced including replacing shower gels etc we booked on a cheap deal so got no view at all but the room decore was amazing and the room was still light the view from the breakfast room was superb - couldnt beat it!

“GREAT PLACE TO STAY IN VENICE”

This hotel's central location near the Rialto Bridge makes it very convenient and it's easy to find, too! My quiet room was very nice with a comfortable bed, good pillows, great bathroom with plenty of hot water. A major plus is that there is a lounge area on the same floor as the rooms with a balcony and seats overlooking the Grand Canal. You can sit here for hours! Breakfast is on the floor above, again overlooking the Grand Canal. Staff of the hotel are very friendly and helpful. This is an excellent place to stay!

“Great Location”

The Ovidius is very close to the Rialto Bridge, and easy walking distance to San Marco square - we found it to be an ideal location. Canal view rooms are more expensive, but worth it - it was great to watch the activity on the Grand Canal, and the noise at night was minimal. We also had a double (no view) that was very small but comfortable. AC worked well, which was key during the July heat.

“Excellent Location!”

If this is your first time to Venice, you are about to be in for a sticker shock. Hotel in Venice is just expensive, period. Most people stay off the island and water boat in during the day time, leaving the town mostly empty at night. With that said, Locanda is located as an excellent location within steps of Rialto Bridge. it is central to all the areas in Venice. And actually has a small balcony with view of the Grand Canal. The room itself is small but comfortable. I stayed at the Westin before which was about twice more expensive and it is honestly not much nicer as most buildings in Venice are old. For the price and location, it is a great hotel

“The perfect place to stay.”

To begin with, the staff was absolutely wonderful. We had no problem at check in and our room was beautiful. Housekeeping was inpeckable. The breakfast buffet was good, not great, but the view from the dining room was beautiful and the dining room itself was a delight. Hotel Locanda Ovidious is a perfect distance from the Rialto bridge, just a minutes walk, but not so close that you had to trip over other tourists. There were several Restaraunts just outside our door and although the wait staff were a little pushy the food was good and not too overpriced. We were a constant nuiscence to our hostes, with questions about everything from places to eat and shop, to how best to return a pair of shoes we had purchased. She had all the answers and made us feel at home. This hotel is about fifteen minute walk to the doges palace, and offers a free water taxi to the island of Marano. it's near plenty of shopping and restaraunts. I look forward to staying at the Hotel Locanda Ovidious our next trip to Venice.

“Fantastic location”

Just had a great few days here! The atmosphere was magic in the few days up to carnival! We walked everywhere and had some great meals in San Polo behind hotel. Location couldn't be better and I loved the jacuzzi bath!

Had a fantastic time, this hotel is in a great location, has fantastic views to the Rialto Bridge and the grand canal, the breakfast was fine, the staff were friendly and helpful especially the lady on duty during the day. Would recommend and stay there again definitely.

“Excellent location”

We read all the reviews, we found it to be just as discribed by previous visitors. A bit tricky to locate however we arrived at 9pm after 24 hrs of travelling. The water transportation system is terrific and located steps from the hotel. No lift but the gentleman at the desk assisted us with our bags, room was small, dated & clean as anticipated, the shower had great pressure, towels good. Balcony on our level overlooking the Rialto Bridge/Grand Canal-we ejoyed watching all the water traffic, another balcony off the dining room with same view. Breakfast is a bit sparse but definately got us started on our day outings. Good & reasonably priced restaurant suggested down the alley from the hotel, everything is close by & would definately consider staying there again.

“Wonderful”

It couldn't have been any more perfect. The staff were unbelievably friendly and couldn't have done more for us. Location is picture post card perfect, took our breath away on arrival when we had drinks on the terrace overlooking rialto bridge. Impeccably clean, beautifully decorated and I really can't imagine a better location 5mins walk from anwhere you cold possible want to be. Try the restaurents below the hotel, all lit up at night, yummy food and great wine.

“Easy to get to. Conveniently situated. Fully recommend.”

At first you think it's a side street dive, then you enter the small marbled foyee. Rooms are good and it's easy to enjoy a cheeky drink on the communal balcony overlooking the Grand Canal. Very chilled, friendly staff.
