“Great Experience”
This hotel was great. The room was wonderful and very spacious. The bed for us was not too hard and the bathroom had a nice bath tub. This hotel is right on the canal and close to the shopping and resturants. The breakfast has a broad variety. I found something great every day. This was a great hotel.
“Best Birthday Gift Ever at the Marconi Hotel”
Staff make you feel welcome and comfortable. Very friendly and create an ambiance to make you feel like your at your own home. Only downside is no elevator, but this is soon forgotten with all the great qualities both the hotel and location have to offer.
“Easy to find and very convenient”
We were delighted with the Marconi. We had a back room that overlooked a calle but that was no problem - it was very comfortable with a nice en suite. We didn't experience any noise problem although there were some exterior repairs to the stucco in progress. The breakfast buffet choice was copious with hot and cold choices. The central location near the Rialto bridge proved its worth as we could call in for a change of clothes or to leave shopping at any time, especially as we were using multi-day vaporetto tickets and could hop off the boat on the way. The staff were always helpful.

“Great location and great hotel.”
The staff could not have been nicer and more helpful. The location is awesome. The room was great. The bath had shower, great water pressure, lots of hot water, a little small in space, but fine. The breakfast is great, hot eggs, they bring basket of bread to your table, and a variety of choices. Only negative is no elevator, but the staff carried my luggage, thank goodness.
“An excellent location”
The hotel is very well situated on the Grand Canal and the Rialto waterbus and shuttle boat stop is directly opposite. The best way to get to the hotel from the airport is on the Alilaguna lines shuttle boat (you can buy tickets inside the airport terminal for 12 euros per person). Be aware that in general Venice is a very expensive city. However, it's a place that must be seen. The breakfast at the hotel was good and the staff were friendly. I'd definitely stay there again.
“Great location in Venice”
This hotel was central to everything we wanted to see in Venice. The room was on the ground floor but to get there required negotiating several sets of stairs. The room was quite small but very clean and the bathroom was modern and spotless. The windows were frosted so no view but they opened onto an alley so the room was very quiet at night. Breakfast was included and the food was plentiful and very tasty. Service from all was polite and friendly.
“Location, location, location!”
Excellent unassuming hotel which is extremely well run. Breakfasts were first class and the position of the hotel, 50 yards along the canal-side from the Rialto Bridge, is ideal. We particularly enjoyed the chance, before and after a busy day sightseeing, to sit at the tables in front of the hotel watching the world go by - an unexpected bonus.
“Great Location”
After walking around all of Venice, I must say that the location of the Marconi is one of the best in the city. You are footsteps from one of the city's main attractions and there are excellent resturaunts right in front of your hotel. The hotel is relatively well-maintained. It is not perfect but in a city like Venice you cannot expect a hotel to be perfect (who in their right mind would spend money on major renovations when the city is sinking). The hotel felt old in certain ways but I thought that it added to the experience since the whole city feels ancient. That said, it was very clean. The service was decent and certainly good by European standards.
“True Venician Experience”
We usually stay in modern plush hotels but this is Venice and the shabby chique of the hotels only adds to the experience. Bed was comfy ( I have a bad back and am the original princess and the pea)Double glazing was impressive as shut out the hustle and bustle outside well, although if you are a light sleeper take ear plugs as the restaraunts at the front of the hotel close after midnight. Stephan on the front desk recomended a fabulous restaraunt Mario's where we were told to ask for Mr Guido who greeted us and we were treated like film stars and by the photos on the walls they have had many visit over the years.Bathroom narrow but spotless and well tiled with a double sized powerful shower. and toiletries provided. After our evening meal we went back to the room and drank a bottle of prossecco on the balcony, a truely magical evening, we couldn't beleive we had found such a gem of a hotel and soaked up the ultimate Venetian experience as we watched the water taxi's.buses and gondolas going up and down the canal meanwhile we were kept amused by the gondola guys antics as they waited for custom on the grande canal just outside the hotel. Breakfast was a mix of continental and cooked. the croissants were the best we had ever had ( sounds a bit over the top but they were) I wasn't too impressed with the scrambled egg but cooked breakfasts aren't my bag so didn't bother me my husband said it was fine. I had a coffee yogurt for the 1st time! Internet on front desk free of charge

Area:
San Polo, Venice, Italy: Home of the Rialto Market, San Polo is the busiest sestiere (district) after San Marco. For local colour, great little shops, bars and cafes, the Rialto market area is a must. Dining on the Grand Canal next to the iconic Rialto Bridge is a romantic Venetian cliché. Near the bridge, the Ca Pesaro is home to the Museum of Modern Art while 16th-century masterpieces are on show at the Frari church and Scuola Grande di San Rocco.
