“Good hotel on the outskirts of venice”
The hotel is fairly large and comparable to a hilton, but its a lot cheaper. The rooms are very good with mini bar and tea tray etc. The bathroom is also good, with the shower being powerful enough to cause a tsunami! The bar was excellent, and we had a table to ourselves wenjoying cocktails near the swimming pool itself. There is a restaruant nearby if you want some good quality italian food. Just ask the reception to show it on a map. Well its slightly away from the train station.. Its euro 30 for a Mercedes cab from train station to the hotel. Or you could take the H1 or H2 bus towards the hospital from the train station. Euro star does have a stop here in Mestre, which is like 5 or 10 minutes before venice SL itself. Also it costed about 50 eutros for a mini van to the airport. And oh, the swimming pool is closed for swimming during winter. which is a bummer ..
“Nice and Affordable”
This is a good alternative if you want to save some money since it's definitely more affordable than hotels in the center of Venice. A public bus is available 5 minute from the hotel and gets you to town in about 30 minutes, the hotel also offer a shuttle bus in the morning. The hotel is clean and modern.

The shuttle to Venice should be booked before you arrive since it fills very quickly..... A very good choice...rooms are large and comfortable
“Highly Recommended”
We recently stayed at Mestre Novotel for three nights over New Year as the cost of the Hotels in Venice were ridiculous for a family of 4. I was very peased with our selection and found the staff friendly and the Hotel more than adequate. Our room had to accommodate a family of 4 so it was pretty tight with luggage etc but we managed as we really only used the room to sleep/shower in. The Hotel breakfast was a fabulous way to start each day and the evening meals were also very tasty and enjoyable. Restaurant staff were trained to a high standard as were the Front Office Team. The Hotel provides a free shuttle to Venice which was wonderful.However, spaces are limited and fill up fast so book on arrival. The first day we decided to catch the bus - this was more difficult than we anticipated having to locate bus tickets in the Tobacco shop which was quite a lengthy walk from the Hotel with children. This was my second visit to Venice and if I had the choice again I would stay at Mestre rather than on the island - you get a cleaner, more contemporary Hotel for a much cheaper room rate. We also had a car and were able to park it at the Hotel (for a cost of course!) It snowed heavily on New Years Eve which made it all the more magical watching the fireworks go off at midnight over Venice with the snow gently falling - all from the comfort of our Hotel room. Would rate this Hotel a good,functional 3.5 star.

“Great hotel, but location is not great”
My husband and I stayed at the Novotel for 3 nights in May 2007. Everything about the hotel was great - clean and comfortable room, very friendly staff and good breakfast. They even accommodated my gluten-free diet. The only problem was the location. In retrospect, we should have done everything we could to find a descent hotel in Venice itself. It was little annoying to try to catch the bus into Mestre. The hotel runs a shuttle to and from Venice throughout the day, which we found very helpful in the mornings (but you need to reserve the shuttle in advance). However, their last shuttle from Venice would leave around 7:30pm, which we found to be way too early.
“Clean and well located”
The location and generally good reputation of the Novotel chain made our choice easy. Our room was clean, modern and comfortable. The quality and value of its restaurant was reasonable for dinner and the included buffet breakfast provided a good selection. No one goes to Mestre as a destination, but its proximity to Venice and to the airport (30 Euros by taxi) makes it ideal. The hotel providea a free shuttle service into Venice and back but book it as soon as you register to get the time you want. Public transportation (1 Euro each way) will also get you there in approximately 30 minutes. The reception sells tickets and will direct you to the bus stops (a 5 minute walk away). When you get back a nice pool is available to cool down from a hot steamy visit of Venice.
“Wish I would have picked Novotel in Malpensa also,”
Wonderful place to stay if you dont't want to stay in the crowds of Venice and reasonably priced. The front desk was always friendly and helpful. Restaurant was good for diner, but pricey.
“Excellent accommodation/amenities & Service.”
Check-in was fast and courteous. Despite an early arrival (from cruise line)we were quickly given our room. Facility was clean, attractive and met all needs of the traveller. Shuttle service for a small fee was available to take one into Venice with a return pickup. Would certainly recommend this hotel.
