“Centrally located in San Marcos district”
Nice room, very convenient to walk to everything in the San Marcos district. Excellent breakfast included with the room.
“Excellent hotel and excellent location”
Excellent modern hotel which is very well located between St. Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge. Easily accessible via the no.2 boat from the main railway station. Very good breakfast which catered for many tastes. Would strongly recommend. Only slight downside was the lack of English speaking TV stations - they were there, but you had to pay 9 Euros a shot for each English speaking TV channel. I would recommend that the Hotel looks at that as it seems unfair in this day and age to charge for English language news channels.
“Very good”
Very nice hotel in a great location between Piazza S. Marco and Rialto bridge. Easy to walk in all directions. Hotel staff very accommodating and knowledgeable.
“In the heart of Venus”
All in all Hotel was refreshing, easy to find, clean, good service. But don't leave anything white in bathrooms or on bed. I had a pair of linen pants hanging in bathroom, maid must have thought they were a towel and scooped them up. When I returned back home to usa the hotel sent me a letter saying that they would reimburse me for 60% the price of pants. I was happy with that, I thought they were a gonner. The free american breakfast was a homerun. But by day 5 we were getting sick of it. Eggs were runny everyday. Lots of healthy food, yogurt, fresh fruit, ceral, salme, ham, rolls, crusants. And Apples. oranges, and grapefuits to go...so take them. Ice you must request if you want it in your room. All rooms have hairdryers and toiletries were very good. There are no irons in room. You pay a fee and they will iron your cloths for you...that kind of stunk. Rooms are very very tinny by very very comfortalble. I did not mind the size because I live in a tiny house anyway. Coincier was helpful. Get out and do some walking! It is a city seen by foot!Try a spritz cocktail, Italians drink them all day, even the old folks. If you like salame sandwiches you'll love venus. The food was definately what I thought it would be. Tuscany and Florence are the real fool lovers paridise so we have heard.Waterbus station can be confusing but don't freak out if you miss your waterbus thier is usually another one coming in 15-30 minutes.
“perfect locale”
My 16 year old son and I stayed here for a week- it was the perfect location and very clean. Stefano in the restaurant is a great waiter and the food is very good but after a week the breakfast gets a bit monotonous. The front desk folks were not as overtly friendly as I had hoped but that may just be a cultural thing. Overall- a great hotel!!
“Anna”
This was one of the best hotels we have stayed in whole of Europe!!!! For the price it was well worth it. The staff were very friendly and helped us with all our queries and always made us feel welcome. There is only one word I can say about the room, it was amazing, so clean, spacious (for a Venice standard) and had everything we needed there. The location is in the heart of Venice, only 2 min walk from St Marks Square and to many many more attractions. We came off a cruise so we caught the water bus to St Marks Square and it was really easy to find from there. If coming from the airport, the hotel has its own taxi stop so its so easy. There are many of restaurants etc. nearby. I really cant rate this hotel any higher. If I was going to say anything bad at all about the hotel, it would probably be the breakfast, but it was honestly fine, tasted excellent but they could of had more choice. Overall, fantastic, would definately recommend.
“Would gladly book there again”
I absolutely loved this hotel. It is a minute's walk to Saint Mark's Square and shopping accessible. It is a bit confusing to find it initially if it's your first time there but once you find it it's easy to locate again. Very helpful staff. We participated in the complimentary trip to Murano.
“Beautiful Hotel, can't wait to go back!”
Loved this perfectly located Venice hotel. Beautiful, clean, great complementary full breakfast.
“A real birthday treat.”
The hotel Splendid is fantastic in so many ways. Location is great, literally a few minutes either way from te Rialto Bride and St Marks Square. And the hotel itself is beautifully designed and appointed, the rooms imaculate, and the public areas done up to a superb high standard. Another simple thing which made ur stay memorable was te complimentary bottle of champagne which the management left in our room with the message 'Happy Birthday' which was, after all the reason for our visit. The great thing about this was that no-one told them - I guess the attentive reception team must have noticed from my passport.
“impressed”
great hotel ---- would go back.

Area:
San Marco, Venice, Italy: San Marco (St Marks) is quintessential visitors Venice. The Piazza San Marco, famous for its pigeons, campanile, basilica, Palazzo Ducale (Doges Palace) and expensive cafes, is unmissable. The waterfront views are legendary and more gondolas depart from here than anywhere else in the city. In season the Piazza teems with day trippers though just a block or two away streets are quiet and offer more museums and palaces to explore.
