“Charming Hotel”
Had a wonderful time at the Gabbia d Oro. We found the hotel charming and the staff very attentive. Our room overlook the courtyard at the back of the hotel and was extremely quiet and the bed was very comfortably. As far as the location is concerned it could not be beaten If you like charm, individuality and good coffee this is the hotel for you.
“Friendly and relaxed 5 star Hotel”
Very much an English country house hotel style. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Ideally situated in the centre of town, easy walking to the Arena. An excellent Hotel and we will use again when we return to Verona
“Adorable”
A very quirky little hotel with excellent service. Don't stay here if you like modern bland hotels with pools and restaurants. It has, however, an abundance of charm and is in an excellent location for Juliette's balcony, the arena and shopping.
“Pure luxury in the perfect location”
This was a special trip for our 10th wedding anniversary and we couldn't have asked for more. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and the hotel even laid on a complimentary drink to help us celebrate the occasion. The room was very comfortable and the breakast was lovely. The location was perfect, with the the hotel right at the top of Piazza Erbe, right in the centre of Verona, but the hotel was very quiet and relaxing. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for that bit of luxury in the perfect location.
“Great hotel, great location, one minor problem...”
Contrary to reviews I've read elsewhere, the staff (all of them) were friendly, efficient, caring and helpful - in short, lovely. However, my room was extremely hot and when I asked how to operate the air-conditioning I was told that the hotel doesn't have it running at this time of year (April). One of the reasons I chose this hotel was specifically because it was air-conditioned. It's a five-star hotel - I expect it to be concerned with the comfort of its customers and not so much with whether the owner is prepared to shell out for the electricity bill. (I was given another room, but it was equally hot.) The pillows, by the way, are like rocks... I moan, but it was still a lovely place to stay despite the setbacks and, I repeat, the staff could not be faulted.
“Bet service ever”
Service was impeccable. The location was superb. The staff were extremely friendly. Breakfast was beautiful.
“Centre of Verona”
You cant really get any closer to the centre of Verona and believe me this is not a city you want to drive around in. Gabbia d'Oro is a small hotel nicely decorated, but since the building is old the rooms are somewhat small. Breakfast is nice if unimaginative. Staff are ok but really dont go out of their way to respond to concierge type requests- they seemed a bit jaded.
“Best location!!!”
The hotel is very well located, extremely charming. It would have been fantastic if it weren't for one inconvenience: there was no standard shower, so every time we took a bath, the bathroom floor got completely soaked. Worst was washing my hair, then the whole place was flooded. My son had a room there too (room 103), and his was just perfect: complete, with shower box, towel racks, etc. So be sure to reserve a room like his unless you like tub bath only.
“Excellent in Verona”
Great location - charming little hotel
