“All You Need indeed”
Great hotel right in the center of Vienna, it has value, location and a decent continental breakfast. Definitely lives up to it's name.
“Superb value for money”
Although the rooms were quite basic, everything was clean and the beds very comfortable. There was a very substantial breakfast buffet included in the price and an excellent four course dinner together with a drink was available for under 10 Euros. We found the hotel was well located only 15 minutes by underground from the centre of the city.
“Like a Microtel in USA”
A little out of the main tourist area, but walkable to Tram and Underground stops and even St. Stephens cathedral. The staff was very helpful, the room clean and quiet; the breakfast very good for the price range of the hotel. We would stay there again.
“very good for budget”
Hotel near city center, near metro and tram, by foot to center it is a 15 minutes walk. Hotel is open between 1 July and 30 September. It's i wise choice if on the budget.
“It could be so good...”
The idea is every travellers dream when arriving in an expensive city such as Vienna - a clean, comfy, and above all cheap room without frills. This place operates as a youth hostel most of the year, and changes it's title to "hotel" in the high season. However, a Youth Hostel is essentially what it is. And what it looks like. The location is excellent, within a five minutes stroll of the medevial town center. The rooms offer all the average traveller needs - No beauty and not a huge amount of space but clean and comfy beds, a quiet place to sleep and a bathroom with shower. For a small deposit you can hire internet cable, hair dryer or even an umbrella. They have got it right on so many levels - with just a little more attention to detail this could be not just an "it'll do", but a "must come back" type of place. This is what's missing: A few pictures on the walls. Friendlier and better organised staff at the (otherwise very good) breakfast buffet. Faster response to faults (it took more than 24hrs to get the broken light bulb in our toilet changed). And, above all, civilised check-in times!!! 3pm earliest check in is ridiculous, especially since latest check out is 11am! None of this need cost any money, but it would make a huge difference to the experience. Contrary to what expedia might tell you this hotel does NOT supply the 72 hr travel card. Overall, I would still recommend it as a budget no-frills option for a weekend in Vienna.
“Clean and basic budget hotel, close to the centre of Vienna”
This is hostel-type accommodation, with a clean, no frills en-suite bathroom. On the plus side, the hotel is close to the centre of Vienna; trams and metro lines are within walking distance. Our room was clean, quiet and functional. Breakfasts were excellent: varied and plentiful, and staff helpful. The dining room was pleasant and airy, and there is a nice walled garden for guests' use, making up for the rather cramped feel in the rest of the building. Now for the negative: there is no air conditioning, and windows only open an inch - not ideal bearing in mind Vienna's hot weather in mid-August. Having said that the room was clean, the day after we arrived, it was not cleaned. This wouldn't have been a problem, but we'd left our towels on the floor for changing, and were getting low on toilet roll! Because Reception shut at 11pm, we had to go down in the morning to ask for towels (and the other!) - or rather we had to plead for the above, as the Receptionist didn't seem to believe us. Now you just doesn't need this first thing in the morning! After that, things went smoothly, until the last day when we had to leave early. Breakfast was supposed to be open from 7am, but at 7.10 it was still closed - except for a couple of managers eating theirs!! Having waited patiently for 10 minutes, along with a dozen other guests, I urged the Receptionist to chivvy up the dining room to open up, which she did, reluctantly. "All You Need Hotel"? Hmm... at a push, or if you're on a budget.
“Hostel not 3 star Hotel”
The accommodation was clean and the staff were friendly, however this was not a 3 star hotel; I consider it to be nice hostel accommodation. At the time of booking the accommodation, I chose to pay extra as I thought I would have the comforts of a hotel, not the basics of a hostel. The breakfast was fantastic. My disappointment is solely from a cost point of view.
