Property Amenities
Built in 1863, the Hotel Imperial was originally a palace, and its public areas still reflect its past. Chandeliers hang from the ceilings, corridors are decorated with marble columns and period grandfather clocks, and the lobby is scattered with rococo-style chairs. The elegant wood-paneled Restaurant Imperial is hung with oil paintings and the secluded Maria Theresia bar lets guests sip cocktails on turn-of-the-century sofas.
Musikverein, located adjacent to the hotel, is known as the home of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the New Year's Concert.
A small gym on the fifth floor features step, running, and weight machines, free weights, and a dry sauna. A hairdresser prepares guests for a night at the opera. The business center has two computers with flat-screen monitors, printers, phones, a photocopier, and ergonomic chairs. Seven function rooms, including a grand festival hall, can be used for meetings or events.
Rooms
This hotel has 138 guestrooms, all of which are furnished with silk wallpaper and filled with antique rococo-style furnishings. The hotel's late-19th-century origins are reflected in each room's decor: period oil paintings hang from the walls and rooms are lit by rococo chandeliers. Bedding and drapes are in rich brocades. All rooms have dial-up Internet access (surcharge). Marble bathrooms have oversized basins, deep baths, and bathroom scales.
Room Amenities
Dining
Restaurant Imperial - This elegant fine-dining restaurant serves dinner in a dark-wood-paneled dining room. High-backed armchairs are seated around candle-lit linen-clad tables adorned with seasonal centerpieces and separated from one another by period frosted-glass screens. Signature dishes include a Supreme of Quail on truffeled Black Salsify.
Café Imperial - Serving breakfast, lunch, and light dinner, the Café Imperial's coffee-house atmosphere attracts locals as well as hotel guests. Waitresses dressed in starched blue-and-white uniforms serve the hotel's famous Imperial Torte and Viennese coffee on monogrammed china. In the afternoons there is live piano music.
Bar Maria Theresia - The Maria Theresia's smoothly curved bar, rococo-style sofas and armchairs and cunningly-designed private nooks make this a highly atmospheric location for a post-business or pre-dinner drink. In summer, the bar extends into an open-air terrace.

“excellent hotel”
Great location, fantastic hotel. The only minus was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but then, there rarely is, outside of UK. Would stay there again.
“Best Hotel in Vienna”
This is our second stay here, and we've had a fabulous time again. The staff are lovely, the room service is great, and the hotel itself is magnificent. Palatial living in every sense of the word - we had five chandeliers in our room, four dimmer lamps, a sofa, two chairs, antique table and writing desk, Bose CD, etc. Welcomed with fruit, and a choc. and bottle of water every day when the maid turns down the beds. Try the Imperial Torte, it's fab.
“Staying in a Palace, living like royalty”
The most luxurious hotel I have ever stayed in. Magnificent building and furnishings - our huge room had 6 chandeliers, walk in wardrobes, a Bose CD player/radio with CD's, widescreen TV, 2 armchairs, great bathroom with walk-in shower with built-in marble bench, and an umbrella. Very comfortable beds, with a wide choice of pillow designs. Seemed to be soundproofed, as we never heard the other guests. Lovely staff, very helpful. Room service excellent - when we asked for an ice pack it came with 2 napkins and a rose in a vase! Very central, on the tram ring, next to the Musikverein and just a block from the Opera House.
“This Imperial Feeling...”
The hotel is simply impressive. We stayed in the elizabeth suite for three nights and we really felt like royalty. You must definately enjoy a whiskey and a cigar on the lobby. The restaurant of the hotel is way more than just a hotel restaurant. Simply amazing, this hotel just made our holiday a bit more special.Fully reccomended
“Must be one of Vienna's best hotels in the old style”
Although the hotel is grand, it is not intimidating, and we felt very welcome. The room was lovely-old style decoration and very comfortable. Our room had a view of the side street, so was nice and quiet. The bathroom was large, with his and hers basins, and everything you need was provided. The location is fantastic-right on the inner ring, so within walking distance of most of the important tourist sights. It is quite expensive though, and a pity that breakfast was not included in the price.
“One of a kind”
The hotel was gorgeous, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. I would love to stay in this hotel again.
“Good”
Everything is Good.
“A truly Imperial Experience”
My wife and I stayed at the Imperial Hotel in Vienna for 4 nights. This hotel was outstanding. The service was exceptional and the everything about the hotel was 5 star from the room to the restaurant. This was a last minute trip and we thought that we were too late to get tickets to concerts but the hotel concierge took care of us and got us excellent seats at a sold out concert. The Imperial is highly recommended!
“Vienna's most luxurious hotel”
I strongly recomend staying at this hotel if you want a romantic getaway or are in the mood to splurge! Although a bit over the top in its decor, the luxurious nature of this hotel helped make my stay in Vienna a complete experience. After visiting the various palaces and sights, I went home to one!
“Excellent Hotel”
Excellent hotel and great staff. Highly recommend staying here. We were upgraded to a deluxe room with a balcony in the bathroom as well as the bedroom. Great recommendations for places to eat and things to see. Would have like to see a little more luxury with the bathroom products as well as the towels. Rather subpar but everything else was good.
