“Wien Tourhotel”

My wife and I stayed in the Hotel in the third week of January 2012. The hotel is conveniently located near the train station and metro, so it is possible to get anywhere. We got a very big room by European standards. The room were clean, had everything you need. Minuses are paid breakfasts and paid online and twin beds. Overall, the hotel is very good for family and traveling on a budget.

“Tourhotel Mariahilf - low price and good service”

Tourotel Mariahilf was an excellent place to stay. The price was very reasonable for Vienna and connections to transportation in Vienna were very handy. The breakfast provided foor 8 euro at a nearby pub had an excellent range of menu items.

“Comfort and convenience”

No room service but...this hotel is clean and comfortable with large, high ceilinged bed and bathrooms - but only one chair to sit in. It's just one tram stop or 5 minutes walk from the Westbahnhof - and the tram stop is almost right outside the front door - very convenient in cold/ wet weather! You can take a 6 euro airport bus from the airport right into the Westbahnhof, too (leaves every 30 minutes). There's a good basic restaurant next door (that you can get to through the hotel) which serves meals from early morning till late at night. The 150 year old bakery across the road is great for breakfast and coffee, as well as people watching - real Viennese, not tourists. As it's a residential area there are shops, pubs and takeaways close at hand.

We arrived at the airport, found the reserved car and driver waiting for us. He was very helpful. We arrived at the hotel in 30 minutes max. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Explained everything in clear English terms. Hotel 5 minutes walk from main underground station, 1 minute away from tram/bus station. Street quiet enough with lot of convenient stores nearby (pharmacy, grocer, cafe...). 5 minutes from main Mariahilfe and square. 10 minutes from Schoenbrunn by transport. Breakfast buffet very good and at a very convenient price. Room very spacious (can easily accommodate 3 people), well heated, clean bathroom.

The Tourotel Mariahilf was recommended to us by our son and his fiancee, who had stayed there the year before. We were not disappointed. The extra requests we made of the hotel staff were met very politely and helpfully. The food was delicious and the hotel was very convenient for the underground. All in all, a very happy stay.

“Clean, Basic and Good Value”

The hotel was clean and our room, at the front of the building, was spacious, with basic furniture and a small balcony. The traffic noise continued through the night, and while mostly kept at bay by the huge double glazing would probably not be advisable for the lighter sleeper. The staff seemed very friendly and we were able to leave our suitcase at the hotel on the day we checked out which was useful. For travelling about the hotel location was fantastic. Westbanhof underground station is about 5 min (max) walk from the hotel and takes you into the centre of town in just a few stops. Trams runs from outside the underground to the ferris wheel at Prater and from immediately outside the hotel to the Schonbrunn Palace. We got the 72 hour ticket to travel at the airport with our CAT train ticket - which takes you straight into Vienna and the underground (where you can get the tube straight to Westbanhof station). We ate at a few of the many cafes along Mariahilf and recommend the bakery opposite the hotel for breakfast and the MariahilfBrau Cafe, on the street corner next to the hotel, for good evening meals. “Great location, Good value for money”

This hotel's location is outstanding. Its just 300 mtrs from the biggest long distance railway station (Westbahnof) in Vienna which is also the nearest Metro station. From Westbahnof you can conveniently catch a metro to go to all the sights. There are a lot of small restaurants /fast food centers near the hotel serving good food. Some of the main sights in Vienna are in or around the Ringstrasse which is only 2-3 minutes by Metro from this hotel. The big hotels in Ringstrasse charge a disproportionately huge premium for the rooms due to their location. This hotel is not that far from the action but is moderately priced. I had a room overlooking the courtyard which was very nice. The room was HUGE and reasonably well equiped with all the modern amenities that are standard for a hotel of this class. Hotel's service was good. Nothing remarkable but no complaints either. Overall a very good place which is great value for money.
