“Pleasantly surprised”
We were checking out colleges so this was the main focus of our trip. We were pleasantly surprised when entering the Marcus Whitman. The hotel is a lovely historic building that is beautifully renovated. The diniing staff was friendly and helpful. Dining was superb with recommended wines to compliment the meal. The happy hour menu was equally delcious when we needed a quick bite but didn't want to travel. Breakfast is great too! The lobby had multiple areas one could sit by the fireplace and read or just relax. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
“The Best Hotel in E.Washington!”
The young man who checked me in was, without a doubt, the best I've seen. I travel a lot and his patience and respect was beyond anything expected. The hotel is beautiful, and the onsite aminities (restaurant, bar, wine tasting, gift shop) made this stay extra special.
“Very nice hotel”
Only two minor issues: 1) no in-room microwave 2) AC unit ran (loudly) but didn't cool the room appreciably - outside temp was in the 50's. Overall a very nice hotel. Real breakfast till 9 (sharp) and cookies at 5:30. Central location and free parking. Nice
“Marcus Whitman hotel experience”
Staff was very efficient and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. The room was very nice, no complaints. The historic part of the hotel gives a true flavor of its importance in the past. Parking was easy. Location is perfect for walking around the city center. We only wished we could stay longer.
“Great location”
Great character to this hotel. The breakfast Buffet was worth the extra money to stay here hands down. Stayed in the tower just a nice experience.
“Nice place”
We were in a wheelchair accessible room for some reason, so it was a little odd - no shower curtain but big bathroom. Room was nice, but left over coffee from previous guest still in the coffee maker made me wonder about the cleanliness. Saw no other problems. The on-site restaurant was spendy but absolutely fantastic!
“Comfortable and tasteful”
We came to Walla Walla for a wine tour weekend. We liked that the Marc was extremely pet friendly, even having a grassy area on the campus complete with doggie bags. That was nice and convenient. The room was clean and comfortable but the pillows were so flimsy and too soft! It made for a miserable night! If we ever go back (which I'm sure we will) I'll just be sure to bring an extra pillow. The free breakfast was not just great, but actually really great! Home made yougurt, applewood smoked bacon, eggs, fruit, sausage... A real breakfast! The hotel staff were all very kind with every interaction. They seem to really understand customer service. I wish the room had a 'do not disturb' sign as we don't need a cleaning over a simple weekend stay, but we choose that time to eat breakfast and wine taste anyway! Overall, a very nice and friendly hotel!
“Fun wine country weekend”
We spent a lovely weekend exploring the many wineries the area has to offer. The pleasant stay and perfect location of the Marcus Whitman was a bonus. Especially appreciated was the breakfast buffet included in the price; we were seated in the restaurant, not a crowded corner. We will visit again.
“Another great visit to Walla Walla”
Have stayed at this hotel several times. The price includes a large buffet breakfast in the dining room. No complaints.
“Beautiful Hotel”
Great hotel - very comfortable, large rooms. Wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the restaurant. Included buffet breakfast was great.
