“Unaccustomed hospitality”
We are used to hospitality being the name of an industry; a commodity provided as part of a business transaction. The management of this small hotel in Waltham do not seem to have heard of this. The moment we walked in we were treated to a genuine hospitable reception from the staff and management. The effusive, larger-than-life manager (perhaps owner) has installed a big espresso machine in the breakfast room. He was eager to show it off, along with the coffee he has imported especially from Italy. The included breakfast was a treat. Added to all this was the fast that the room was so spotless that it felt like we were the first to stay in it. The kitchen was well equipped and everything worked including the excellent wide screen TVs. We will definitely be back.
“Less like a chain hotel, more like a European "pension."”
What a gem! What a find! Tucked (quirkily) into a residential area of Waltham, this was the perfect place to stay during a recent business trip. Highly recommended for anyone needing accommodations west of Boston proper, but convenient enough for Boston tourists (if you have a car). I stayed in a suite of rooms with a window facing the Charles river out back for a lovely view. A full kitchen was a real convenience. Morning espresso and cappucino served in the common dining room was a thoughtful touch. Charming, clean, modern with a friendly staff. A definite upgrade from similarly priced, charm-free chain hotels along Route 128.
“Clean hotel, friendly staff, very affordable!”
We had to travel to the Boston area for a medical appt. and to visit family and we did not want to stay in a pricey hotel because mostly we would be out all day, just sleeping in the hotel at night. This place was perfect. Reasonably priced and near major highways. Lots of very good local places to eat. The place is very clean and offers breakfast. The staff answered all our questions, suggested restaurants and offered water and coffee upon arrival. Julianna (working when we arrived ) was extremely helpful and friendly! An important note: I am a lousy sleeper and I actually slept at night because it wasn't very loud. Overall, we were very pleased and will definitely stay there again.
“Very impressed”
Delightful hotel. Made us an expresso drink while we were checking in which was very tasty. The room was large and comfortable (even had a kitchen area). The breakfast was above average. Very nice hotel.
“Great place to stay”
I chose this hotel based on other reviews and found it to be as good as the other reviews described. Clean, comfortable, quiet, reasonable price, good breakfast, friendly service, very nice.
“A shame we were only staying one night!”
This was a great place to stay. Nice location in a quiet residential area, we had a brief walk down by the river. The suite was beautiful, clean and equipped with everything needed for a longer stay, we barely made use of what was available! Michael and his son Tim were wonderful hosts, helpful in every way and we wouldn't hesitate to go back for a longer stay.
“Best place I've stayed in ages”
I was only there for overnight, and I wished I could have stayed longer. Everyone was friendly, without being invasive. Very relaxing atmosphere for guests, but from condition of hotel and excellent service, it is obvious that everyone employed there is on their toes.
“Hidden gem in Waltham”
This hotel is located in an older, charming part of Waltham along a river accessible by path. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this hotel because of its cleanliness, spacious and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, quaint location, and decent breakfast. They even offered a good cappacino at breakfast - only downside was that the breakfast area was a bit tight. Overall, the hotel captures the better parts of a European hotel while also incorporating the comfortable beds and spaciousness that are standard in better hotels in the US.

“Absolutely recommend it”
Wonderful place, great location, a few blocks walk to the restaurants in Waltham. Owner Michael will personally make you an espresso or capuccino for breakfast, or maybe even at check-in. Definitely the place to stay if you need to be in that area. Commute to Boston may require taxi or taxi-train combination, about 30-40 minutes.
