“The Churchill Hotel”
I would definitely stay here again. Two blocks (approx.) to Dupont Circle metro, across from Washington HIlton, staff very helpful and friendly. Room was very clean, nice amenities (flatscreen TV, refrigerator, King room was spacious, 1 cup coffee maker for several cups of coffee, ice available on even number floors, etc.)
“Enjoyment surplus!”
The hotel was fantastic. My only complaint would be that the bathroom was a little small, but it's fine, because you won't be spending a ton of time in there anyways. The location is fantastic!!!
“Very pleased: will stay there again.”
A perfect alternative to the much-more-expensive Hilton across the street. The Churchill has the feel of a small boutique hotel (although it's actually quite large) that made it a welcome retreat at the end of each long day. My room was clean, comfortable and everything worked properly. The staff couldn't have been more professional or more helpful. The restaurant was undergoing renovation when I was there, but that was not much of a hardship since there are many restaurants nearby.
“Older, But Good”
Overall, very pleased with The Churchill. Even the exterior is such a pleasant contrast with the modern, but plain competition across the street. I loved the eclectic mix of new and old in the rooms. My room was huge! I was fortunate to have a corner room with not one, but two bay windows! Even though an older property, king bed was new and very comfortable. Flat screen TV had a good picture. And, the staff are extremely nice and polite. They seemed to sincerely care about you. I told several friends who were staying across the street about this place. If in town again for the same conference next year, some said they would strongly think about staying here.
“Great deal”
Clean, sparkling lobby, very upmarket. Helpful staff, super comfortable room, lovely linen, couldn't have been happier, 7 minutes to the dupont circle subway, buzzy neighbourhood, lots of restaurants. Across the Hilton, where the hop onhop off stops, however it has to be one of the worst tours in the world. Leaving passengers stranded, badly run system generally.
“churchell hotel review”
excellent hotel for price, only complaint i have is the over priced menu.
“Good old hotel with character”
I have stayed at the Churchill Hotel many time, and I am always happy with my experience. The definite draw is location - it is conveniently located between Dupont and Adams Morgan, great for night life and also for many business options (I work near the Golden Triangle and could walk easily to work every day). The staff is lovely and responsive. The only reason I gave some elements 4 rather than 5 stars is that the room temperature was difficult to control. Because it is an old hotel, they can only turn on either the heat or AC for the entire building, which left my room warmer than I would have liked. However, the staff responded quickly when I alerted them of this issue. Across the board, it was a great stay and I would recommend the hotel to anyone.
“nice hotel at a good location”
Despite the fact that expedia messed up my reservation the hotel reception staff were efficient in resolving the issue. I got a very good deal through expedia and am very satisfied with the hotel.
“Great Hotel, Great Service”
I was very impressed with my stay. I am native to DC and now live in the suburbs. I travel to large cities often. Compared to large chains, the service was more personalized, very fast, everyone was beyond polite and eager to meet my needs. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the city while receiving great boutique hotel service. I know the hotel is older, but it's been totally redone inside and looks gorgeous and brand new. I'd stay here in a second!!!
“Great rooms and location!”
Excellent, will be happy to go back!
