“Great place, great location”
Great place - design, comfort, cleanliness, friendliness - A+. My only complaint is that when I mentioned the breakfast coupon that I had forgotten to print they didn't offer to just accept it. Since it was quite a pain to print I just went out for breakfast. I also wish there was an in house gym.
“Topaz is a gem!”
Wonderful hotel: well-designed; unique; very spacious; visually interesting and located on a lovely block very close, but not in, the thick of things in Dupont Circle area. Had a great free wine (with yummy chips and guac) hour from 5-6; joined the Kimpton Group for free and got free wireless and $10 free in the mini bar; comfy bed; great, huge bath and robe; felt like home. Would definitely come back. Valet parking expensive but could view my car from my window and was worth it for convenience.
“Awesome”
It was everything you want in a hotel and the staff was over the top!!
“Great sleep & friendly helpful staff.”
Great bed & bedding is high quality. Quiet between rooms. Windows open for fresh air. Good, easy to work heating. Doors don't bang shut. Great location. Fantastic five star service and genuinely caring staff. And I mean everyone working there. Free wine hour is a plus.
“Such a gem; lovely staff!”
Loved this boutique hotel, in a delightful area (Dupont Circle). The staff was more than friendly and accommodating, and we felt there was such a personal touch from all staff members, especially in the way we were welcomed back after a long day of sightseeing, each day. The room we stayed in was immaculate, and we can't wait to return again. I would suggest requesting a room that does not face the back of the building, only because you will be awoken at both 5:30 am and 7:30 am for trash pickups from several businesses' dumpsters. Other than that, you should be extremely pleased with this gem of a place!
“Great stay”
Very enjoyable stay at the Topaz, rooms are spacious and the staff are helpful.
“Absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Topaz in DC!!!”
The staff at the DC Topaz were awesome; friendly, helpful, courteous, attentive and great with giving direcitons or getting a cab. We will stay at the Topaz when we return to DC. Thank you Topaz for a great stay.
“Wonderful weekend stay!”
My husband and I have stayed at many Kimpton hotels and we love them all! The Topaz hotel (as with all Kimpton hotels) is pet friendly which is a huge plus for us since we have a large dog and most hotels charge pet fees and have a weight limit for dogs - not Topaz! In addition to being pet friendly, it is a nice hotel with a trendy feel and it's in a great location. We were able to walk to many restaurants and bars which were all within a block of the hotel. Also, at 5:00 every night, the Topaz has a wine happy hour in the lounge for all the hotel guests - a nice way to start your evening before heading out on the town. We had a great stay and look forward to coming back soon!
“Very professional and extremely helpful”
I was initially worried because the price of the hotel was 60% what the other hotels were charging. However, the rooms were nice and well maintained. The internet was free and they offered guests a YMCA pass (located just around the corner). I'll definitely look for a Kimpton hotel the next time I travel.
“Impressed”
--Great Location ---Loved the rooms and hospitality
