“A good value or money hotel”
I found the hotel great value for money. The location was good as it was very easy to find and close to local amenities. I would definately recommend this hotel to a friend who was looking for a value place to stay. I think the only faults we found were that one of the lamps didn't work and we could have done with some more pillows.
“Very good service, shame about the food.”
This was a trip to a cremation, and, as the trip was about seventy miles, each way, we booked for one night, originally, for the night of the ceremony, but decided later, to include the previous night, due to uncertain snow and ice forecasts. This was dealt with efficiently, at the arrival desk. When we went down for a snack, we reported the room being cool, and the receptionist said that a heater would be put in the room, which would be warm on our retutn - and he was spot-on. The menu lacked light snacks, in small helpings, so we ordered the soup and triple-decker sandwich, which over-faced us - our appetites aren't what they were 40 years ago. The room was nice and clean, but using the access card-key was a lottery.
“Good comforts for overnight stay”
The hotel is very clean and spacious, although it is still possible to hear the disco still going on at 12:30 am two floors above. food good but a tad expensive at £11.95 for cooked breakfast. Rooom extremely warm and comfortable, but then this was the executive room. the hotel is ok for an overnight stay but be aware if there on business, private parties can be held on Thurs/Fri/Sat
“Convenient and cheap hotel”
Hotel was cheap and clean, although a little mold in the shower and the shower curtain could do with a replacement. We were given a dirty towel on our second day but this was promptly replaced with apologies. Staff were super friendly and really helpful. The doors need a soft-close mechanism put on them as doors slamming into the night really disturbs guests. Overall, a cheap place to stay and pretty convenient. 24 hour Tesco right across the road with bus stops there too running in and out of the city all day. Carpark pot holes should be fixed! Also bed is on wheels so you cant sit up in bed to read without sliding out. Wifi is only in reception but would be nice if you could access free wifi from your room.
“adequate for 1 or 2 nights”
Rooms were adequate for a budget business hotel, but the breakfast was poor and restaurant expensive. I also felt that the high charge for internet access in the bedroom was excessive
“Good service but hotel needs money spent on it”
Hotel was further out of Leeds than expected - when we arrived the main front entrance door was not working - other entrance was grubby. The lift didn't work, but we were on the 1st floor so it was not a major issue. When we got into our room it was a small double - halls were tatty including carpet that looked dirty. We had booked a twin room. When we phoned down to reception - the staff were lovely and moved us to the other side of the hotel. This side of the hotel halls were also very worn and tatty, but the room was lovely but very cold. it took to the next morning before it heated up even after turning the heat up full. Had dinner in the hotel - staff were lovely - dinner was a little expensive. Breakfast was very good and included in the price - staff again were lovely. Basically hotel needs a lot of money spent on it - the price we paid seemed cheap until we arrived then we understood the price reduction but we would not pay that much again based on the state of the hotel.
“OK but if there is no alternative”
Both bedside lights did not work - one flickered briefly before not working. Both had labels on saying they had been checked. Shower head came away when tried to adjust, threads had gone. Used tissues under bedside unit, missed by cleaners. Bed was in two bits on castors so if you sat up in bed to read or watch TV bed would move away from headboard and pillows fall down gap. Car park had nasty potholes difficut to see as it had virtually no illumination.
“desperate”
needs refurbishment. tatty decor and carpets; only one pillow per person; bathroom stained. supposed to be executive room but nothing executive about it!
