Nice location and nice big family rooms.
Hotel location is wonderful so is the building itself. Loved staying there. Staff didn't seem too friendly and didn't see them smile once. Didn't feel welcomed by them. But other than that everything was good.

Stop over near Mechelen.
We enjoyed our overnight stop at this hotel. The hotel was easy to find, and has a large car parking area. The grounds are well kept, with trees in every direction. Check in was quick, and we received a good welcome. We stayed in room 12. The room is large, with windows on two sides. So it is quite bright inside. The bed was firm and comfy. What struck us was the exceptional cleanliness. Breakfast was fine. Help yourself buffet. We were more than happy with what was provided. The hotel is a good vase for visiting the surrounding area. We would stay again, and would recommend the hotel.

Gorgeous Hotel
This is a beautiful hotel at the base of the Swiss Alps, the rooms are spacious and the views are spectacular! The staff speaks English very well amd they go above and beyond to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

A very disappointing choice.
After reading all the wonderful reviews I was very much looking for my stay. Could of not been more disappointed. As a frequent business traveller I consider this my worst choice. The first night I was eaten by bed bugs leaving me with more then 20 bites. No need to mention a sleepless night. The next day I was moved to another room which was ok , but the damage was already done so I could not sleep again. I was excited to try the restaurant as well after the reviews, but had nothing but an average pub food. The Bistro across the road was better by miles.

dear Guest, we read you review well which - I must say - surprises us a lot. The manager of the hotel had slept in the very same room (nr 17) two nights before, because he had to work late and needed to look after his son. they both - he and his boy of 11 years - slept in the same . None of them were bitten by any bugs at all! the hotel is located in a green environment and during autumn and spring some insects like muscito's or so might occure, but surely no bed bugs. Although we did not agree at all with your argument, we did not make you pay for the dinner and drinks (which you ate entirely), because we felt your mind was negative anyway and you were ready to post a bad review. So we are very sorry but this does not seem us very correct.

Off the beaten path.
I was on the popular road trip from Amsterdam to Paris and wanted to get a taste of a real local European neighborhood that was also not out of the way. This place was authentic and gave me the perfect experience I was looking for. And breakfast was delicious!

Interesting hotel in beautiful old building. Very quiet. A bit too quiet sometimes. They take dining in very seriously. Free parking is definitely a perk but not sure I'll return to this part of the country.

Nice building, average location. Continental breakfast is included. Breakfast area is nice. Ample parking. Fresh fruit in room. As they were quite busy this time around, I got the only room left, which was a suite. A bit larger than the average with a King size bed and a sofa that has traveled straight from the late 80s/early 90s. Rooms are clean but outdated. I have stayed here quite a few times since 2011. However, the service is just OK. The owner needs to smile a bit more. We all have average days, but it's been this way since my first visit. Not sure it is rudeness, but it may come through as such, even when speaking the same language. However, one of his employees (longer brown hair) is quite nice. Good to have someone like that to level out the playing field. A big downfall of the entire experience: if you are looking for a plug whilst using an adapter, good luck. The only possibility was to use the bathroom plug. Internet has been sketchy as well, sometimes dropping off. Happened a few times since my first visit. Being the only hotel in town bodes well for it. However, two newer places were recommended in a 3-mile radius, so we will see what comes of that. Courtesy is definitely THE differentiator in this industry as it helps level things out. Lack of it here translates into its drawback.

A room...
This is the only hotel in Rijmenam, and it makes it convenient to get picked up by a colleague in town. Due to a busy period, I ended up booking the only other room available, which was a suite / king size bed. Compared to the regular room, you get a sofa that seems to have traveled from the late 80s/early 90s. The rooms could undergo a good refurbishment. They look a bit old. With the suite, you also get some additional treats. I realized I had not. So, I inquired about this upon checking out when I remembered. A nice lady checking us out (long brown hair) made this right. However, the owner could use a smile. We all have some off days, but not once in the half dozen times I have been there since 2011 have I seen him smile. Somewhat of a turn off. Otherwise, internet has been spotty. And, if you are looking for more than one plug, good luck. Everything is so tight that if you have an adapter, you will be hard pressed. Breakfast is continental. However, no water. That was a miss. I might be back out of convenience for my colleague. But when you think that for the same price, I could have had a junior suite in the center of Brussels at a Hilton, it becomes a downer, or use one of the newer hotels that opened in the area.

The rooms were a bit outdated but quite large. The staff were very friendly but seemed to take a long time to get anything done. Restaurant was delicious food but a little bit pricey. Overall it was quite nice and was a bit of a homey feeling, not like a normal hotel feeling.

Quiet hotel by pine forests
Stayed at the hotel for three nights. The renowned hotel restaurant was closed for those nights, but there were excellent French and Japanese restaurants nearby. Room and bathroom were clean and well kept: white slippers and white dressing gown were provided. Breakfast on the 2nd and 3rd morning was excellent with fresh fruit, a range of breads, cheeses and meats. I was surprised to be discouraged from taking my half drunk bottle of breakfast water back to the room by reception staff. Cleaning staff were very friendly and maintained the rooms well.

Hotel in a very residential area
Been there a few times. Nice place to stay, but quite some ways from the city. Not a whole lot to do. Restaurant onsite is good. Rooms are large, but weird to see towels double as carpets. Fresh fruit left by housekeeping us a nice touch. However owner/manager could be a bit more welcoming. That's the only reason why it got three stars. Also asked for room confirmation a few times, and gave up after my third call. Overall, nice place, but every time, there seems to be one more issue to add... However, if you want to keep quiet and just relax in a small and quaint village, this is a good 4****.
