Where to stay in Boracay Island?

About Boracay

No other beach in the Philippines is better known or more frequently visited than beautiful Boracay. The beaches of Boracay can give any coastline in the South Pacific, the Caribbean, or elsewhere in Southeast Asia a run for their money when it comes to the crystal clear blueness of the waters and the pristine whiteness of the sand. Another reason why Boracay is so perennially popular is because this small island is no more than an hour's flight away from Manila.

Don’t Miss

Many Boracay visitors head straight for White Beach, which is divided into three distinct sections. The widest and northernmost section is Station 1, which also contains White Beach's most luxurious beach resorts. The centrally located Station 2 is White Beach's main commercial and nightlife area. Station 3 is the most affordable and tranquil place to stay in Boracay's most popular sunbathing spot.

Visitors seeking an even more secluded tropical beach experience should venture to Puka Beach. This sandy white beach on Boracay's northern tip is named after the puka shells many locals gather to make jewellery. Bulabog Beach is Boracay's most notable kiteboarding spot, while Baling Hai Beach is best known for its snorkelling and relaxed environment.

The Bat Cave, located on Boracay's western end, may be the island's most famous attraction beyond its beaches. Visitors should approach the cave's slippery and steep mouth with caution. Dusk is the best time to actually see the bats who live in the bottom of the cave, but the several small stalactites dangling from the cave's ceiling are impressive at all times of the day.

Restaurants and Bars

Aside from the numerous places to eat and drink at Station 2 of White Beach, Boracay's most notable dining establishments include a clifftop restaurant at Baling Hai Beach and the handful of vendors and restaurants at Puka Beach. Some restaurants will also barbecue freshly caught seafood purchased by visitors from local fishermen. The White Beach bars at Station 3 are generally smaller and more relaxed than the ones at the other stations.

Shopping

D*Mall, located at Station 2 of White Beach, is Boracay's leading shopping and commercial centre. However, D'talipapa, located between White Beach and the main road at Station 3, is becoming a popular alternative thanks to its large meat, vegetable, and live seafood markets. There are also quite a few smaller or higher end souvenir shops, clothing boutiques, and places to shop in general at White Beach. Shopping options are scarce outside of White Beach aside from the beach vendors who sell shell jewellery, massage sessions, or cool treats.
