Quite, humble and comfortable. Close to San Pedro market, but not close to Plaza de Armas like I though. Definitely needed a taxi to get there. The area was quite and there is currently construction going on the road that runs in front of the hotel. It was pretty quite as well. Breakfast was ok, but definitely got food in my belly. The coffee was too strong. There was plenty of coca tea. Beds were warm and comfy and they gave us hot water bags to go in bed when it got cold at night, but once you warmed up you didn’t need it because the blankets were thick and layered.

Friendly staff
Everyone at Dreams has very helpful. They helped me with my Machu Picchu ticket mess up, by making phone calls for me. They also arranged pick up from the airport and to the rain station. They also let me borrow a phone charger ( I didn’t realize my universal charger would not work in Peru). They packed a 2 go breakfast for me the day I left for Machu Picchu. It was a bit off the beaten path, but not to far to manage. Also the hot water bottle at before bed was awesome to warm up.

Not a 24 hour reception leaving us locked out.
We arrived to the Hostal at 5AM following a night bus and were shown to our room early at around 7AM. The room itself was lovely clean and modern and had clearly recently been refurbished. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot and had good water pressure. All was going well until we decided to go out for lunch. On our return at around 4PM the main door to the building was locked and we hadn’t been given a key to enter. There was no one at the reception desk so we rang the bell and knocked on the door. No one came to answer so we continued to ring the bell and knock on the door with increasing persistence for the next 30 minutes. The hotel is not in a particularly touristy area and during this time we felt incredibly unsafe. After 30 minutes of trying unsuccessfully to alert the staff we wished to enter the property one of the staff members returned to the property with a bag of oranges. He had clearly left the property unattended while he went out to run this errand leaving us in an incredibly vulnerable situation locked outside. After this we felt nervous to go out in the evening as we weren’t sure if this would happen again and we promptly left the next morning. This was very sad and could have been completely avoidable by either having a 24 hour reception which we were promised or by giving us a key to the front door. Breakfast the next morning was nice however sadly this was not enough to make up for the lack of security in the accommodation.

Nice little place
This is a solid place to stay. It's close to many restaurants and it's a good place to stay overnight or even for a couple of days when passing through the area.

great hotel, wonderful staff
Room: the room was large and spacious for me as a solo traveller, i got a room with 2 beds. The room and bathroom are kept clean daily by the staff Facilities and fixtures are new. Staff: Some of the friendliest and host helpful people I've encountered. Nadya remembers every guest's name and their activities/concerns. She gives recommendations on restaurants, activities, home remedies, etc. She spends time to get to know guests and their interests, customer service at its best. Amenities: wifi is fast. Breakfast is simple but tasty, freshly squeezed orange juice and eggs cooked on demand. Airport transfer was included in the package. Overall: would definitely come back and stay at this hostel. Wonderful experience for me as a first-timer in cusco.
