About Iidabashi

The district of Iidabashi is one of the most underrated spots to stay in Tokyo. It is home to its own train station, which makes it easy to use the major rail hubs throughout the city. In addition, it is within walking distance to numerous famous sites including some of Tokyo’s most revered landmarks.

Don’t Miss

The Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens can be reached on foot from Iidabashi Station. This majestic park is found adjacent to the massive Tokyo Dome and has survived since it was first constructed in 1629. Even though it is designed with Chinese influences, it is still one of Japan’s most-visited and most respected green spaces. The main pond is breathtaking.

The Imperial Palace is another major landmark just minutes from Iidabashi. The palace complex is where the current emperor and some of his family members reside, so much of the landmark is sealed off to the public. Nevertheless, there are several areas that visitors can explore including the gorgeous Kitanomaru Park. During New Year’s, the inner gates open allowing the public entrance to the Chowaden Reception Hall.

Restaurants and bars

Iidabashi is close to some of the classiest restaurant areas in Tokyo including the sparkling district of Ginza. Nevertheless, there are some great establishments in Iidabashi that serve a range of different cuisines such as Indian, Japanese, and European. Though many restaurants are located along the main streets, there are some excellent local venues located in the side-streets. There aren’t too many pubs and bars inside the district of Iidabashi. However, nightspots are found just a short distance away in areas like Ginza and Roppongi.

Shopping

Iidabashi is not renowned for its shopping facilities. However, it is close to several important areas that will lure shopaholics. Akihabara is only a short distance to the east and an assortment of sporting-goods stores and musical instrument stores operate within Jimbocho and Ochanomizu.
