It was oddly organised check-in. I was pestered to choose breakfast at 15:00 the previous day. There were only 2 power points in the room. A window latch was very broken. Mostly it was very comfortable

Hotel has been refurbished so looks nice, chic, comfortable. The room closet was an open concept, interesting. The cafe floor was still being refurbished when we were there. Staff and security guards were friendly. As the parking lots are limited, the hotel utilizes lifts to allow for 2 cars to occupy the same spot. The guards were helpful when we needed to park. The high water pressure from the bath shower was the best! Location is within walking distance of a variety of cafes, coffee shops, a food court, pubs and tourists attractions. A 7Eleven, which connected to the hotel lobby was convenient for a getting a quick drink or snack. There was a wide selection of free movies so the tv was stuck to that channel. A water cooler was available in the corridor. If you needed to boil water, there was a kettle in the room.

The hotel is old. They are trying to do some renovations. The pillows smell like sweat, the bed is dirty. Towels are old and dirty. Didn’t feel comfortable at all.

Be ware of the hidden cost 'Tourism Tax' which is not mentioned on booking site. Not much restaurants around the area at night. This is an old street town, you need to go to new street town for all popular dining.

The hotel is much closer to the train station than it looks on the map. One can easily walk to the hotel from the train station with no problem. We arrived in the dark and when it was raining hard and had to take the taxi to the hotel. In the morning when we walked round the area we found the hotel really close to shops and restaurants in the city. The only problem is the bus or long distance coach station is a long way off the city and almost half an hour's taxi ride. You want to catch the coach to Cameron Highlands beware of the distance of the coach terminal and the city and give yourself plenty of time.

As you enter the hotel lobby and the room, there is a very nice fragrance that the hotel uses. There is a 7-11 store that is next to the hotel - very convenient. Hotel Staff are friendly and efficient. Hotel's location is a short walk to the old town of Ipoh where there are many eateries and shops to buy traditional foods. Not much amenties available - eg no shampoo or conditioner given, no room slippers or laundry bag given. Housekeeping staff need to be trained - to ensure that the room is properly cleaned and made up, towels are removed and changed daily, toilet bowls are cleaned properly, I did provide feedback to the reception staff and they were very efficient that they immediately contacted the housekeeping supervisor and rectified the matter. Was very pleased with the reception staff's attitude and efficiency.

Ive upgraded to the 2 queen beds bedroom. Pros: -clean. Its not carpeted, thus feels cleaner -safe. Many guards around. -next to 24-7 7eleven -parking at hotel basement & got extra parking space around 2 minutes walking time -good water pressured shower -near kinta waterfront -near concubine lane -near padang ipoh -fast lifts -very helpful n welcoming receptionist -got iron n ironing board -got safe box -got water heater -free 4 bottled water minerals, 2 sachet instant coffee, 2 sachet green tea, 2 set toothbrush sets, 2 shower caps cotton bud, 1 small soap, 1 soap dispenser at the showe -got working water heater like coway at each level of the hotel aisle Cons: -the aircond could hv been better. Maybe frequent aircond filter change. My sisters had viral flu after return from d hotel. Maybe bcoz the aircond too cold? -extra parking space around 2 minutes walking time. Not really far, but the idea of have to cross the street sometimes scares me -hotel lobby is juz after a sharp corner -mini fridge not working

The parking is lousy! The double tier parking is not just inconvinient but also risky. Electricity tripped off while i was getting ready to attend a function. The hair dryer which was attached to the power point caused it when i switched it on. The deposit of RM50 collection was so back dated. They dont accept any other form of payment other than cash. Like come on, we are in 2022. At least a QR payment ? What if you have customer's checking in middle of night and have no cash or credit card. You expect them to walk to the nearest bank? Cititel used to be one of the good service provider but the standards has terribly gone down. Do something according to the evolution.

Always a pleasant stay here, hotel rooms are clean with in-room movie channels. Staffs are friendly and always greet with a smile, security guards too! Plus point, water pressure is great! Only downside, no fridge/chiller in the room.

Checking in is strictly at 3pm and registration process is rather slow. But otherwise this hotel is value for money located in the quiet part of old town close to Concubine Street and Ipoh Padang/Birch Memorial Clock. Grab car takes you anywhere in Ipoh at low cost.

Good location, clean, lots of movies to watch
The hotel is situated right at a cross junction. There is a 7-11 directly below the hotel, which is great when you need to get stuffs urgently.. The hotel is easily walkable to nearby eateries as well as train station if luggage is not too heavy. Love the huge selection of movies on the TV. Will probably not get enough time to finish watching all the shows.

Before the pandemic Cititel was my choice of stay in Ipoh as it is really clean & convenient yet quiet. It's a 3min walk to the old town area where food options is endless. The rooms I used to stay did not have a fridge but the room I stayed at this trip had one which was a plus! If all rooms are not equipped with a fridge, they should! Service is still good & friendly, but the rooms does need a bit more attention to cleanliness. The toilet needs a lot more work to rid of mouldy grouts, it may have been cleaned but it is a rather unpleasant sight. It does feels uncleaned. Overall it used to be a 4/5 stay, this trip it's a 3/5.

Comfotable and clean room.
Everything was good except for the parking. Limited parking at the basement. Encounter some other guest trying to reserve the parking for their friends even though i had the parking in front of me. And also the open carpark spaces at the opposite has some safety concerns when we walk back to the hotel. Maybe can have a well lit and covered walkway thats direct into the hotel.entrance. Overall it's a good stay.
