"My review is based on an older hotel that is prone to weathering on the ocean coast and well used by vacationers who don't always take the best care of the facilities. That, coupled with fairly affordable prices compared to the area competition makes it a good deal. The Amelia Hotel at the Beach has hard surface flooring which is a big plus in my book as carpeted rooms are usually nasty. Room was large and clean. The bed linens were clean with lots of pillows and the fluffy bath linens were extremely nice. There was no freezer compartment in our fridge, but did have a nice and useful wet bar. Yes, this hotel has some age but it appears the upkeep and maintenance is very good. Our check-in experience was nice and the person was professional but when we went to the front desk two days later to change (delay) our room cleaning date, the clerk was hanging outside with a friend (I think smoking) and saw us at the desk but still took a couple of minutes to come inside. He was not dressed professionally and had no 'hospitality' skills and was obviously perturbed by us disturbing his time. His demeanor was the only black mark on this hotel stay."
