I have mixed feelings about this property. The staff were amazing. Very friendly and helpful. My unit was clean and the bed was comfortable. The property itself is in need of a major cash infusion to do necessary repairs to the exteriors of the buildings. I think covid hit this property hard. There was an obvious broken pipe in my building as water was leaking from random places all the time which may have contributed to the sewer smell that came from the kitchen sink. I really hope the property managers can figure things out because it would be a shame to see this once lovely property go to ruin.

Stunning Ocean Sunset View
Overall i would recommend this place as our room (1401 a block) somehow feels like it was the best one out of the other rooms in that resort. We had the pool by the ocean and what a view it was seeing the sunset at night and chilling by the pool in the dark as it has balcony lights. Pool size was reasonable to swim back and forth. Enough for 3 people comfortably. Room we had was 3 bedrooms so 6 people can stay.. fridge, hob, microwave so can cook. Air conditioning in every room and a bonus is that you can leave it on whilst we was out for the day so nice and chilled when we are back in. Resort had their own pool but we never got round to it as we had our own. Room is clean and spacious with 2 of the rooms having own doors to go out to the pool. Only thing is that if you wanted room to be cleaned then you have to leave the key at the front desk. Car park is free (car is a must to explore that place) Breakfast could be a lot better i feel for being a 4 star as just feels somewhat skimpy in certain things. Having said that i would go back for that room again

Bad smell of sewage
Our one bedroom suite on the ground floor was infested with a foul stench of sewage day and night, especially in our bedroom. Just outside our terrace, there was an intermistic arrangement that looked like sewage drainage where tiles were removed, so the smell was very intense and annoying.

Our cleaners left dirty dishes outside our room for 3 days on the floor. There were cracks all through the building, the staff were quite unhelpful and did not honor our inclusions on the Expedia voucher.

Not up to par with the typically great service provided in thailand. Cleaning of the room left plenty to be desired and front desk could have been more helpful ..... or acted like they cared more, e.g. the power was out and although that can certainly happen and is well out of their control, barely a “sorry for the inconvenience” or any such comment when we inquired as to how long they anticipated it might be down for ...... won’t stay at this particular hotel again.

We had a pool and ocean view suite. It was heaven. Inside was not so great. The kitchen was rather large but not functional at all. It had a stove and fridge, but no oven. There were no cooking equipment in the kitchen except for one pot and 2 pans. No dish towels, potholders, etc. Sofa was really soiled. There is no ATM and no wash machine. Washing service only. Not practical for an extended trip in Thailand. Would he nice to have some basic info about the resort and area in room.

A quiet hotel, nice enough!
We started with a free upgrade which was a great bonus, however the cleanliness of the property and the beach towels was not great. Booked transfer from the airport cost us more than was advertised in the reception which felt deceiving. Area is quiet around, only 400baht to Ao Nang though!

Okay stay. The room was nice, but a few lightbulbs were out. The breakfast was a disappointment. Not a lot to choose from and they couldn't keep up with demand. The area is okay too, but somewhat remote. Next time, I'd probably look for something closer to Ao Nang beach or stay at a larger hotel.

Cosy area off track from Ao Ngan but has everything you need. The hotelroom (3bedroom seaview) had everything you can desire. Nice view, huge private pool, 3 bedroom with ensuite bath, fully equipped kitchen with microwave, stove and big fridge to name a few. I really liked the beach which is across tge road. You can find about 20 bars along the beach of various qualities. We preferred the small laid back ones but there are even some with medium standard. The breakfast was mentiined as average in many reviews which i disagree. Its a fair mix of Asian and western choices whuch is above country average. Surely you could find a restaurant serving just eestern or asian with better choices but traveling in a mixed group it was spot on for us. I've visited 5 star hotels of big chains before which where worse. Also surprusing: the average guest seems to be western while a couple of asian famillies stayed there as well. Overall: perfect blend of western and asian at a hard to top level. Local staff had some language barriers but never failed trying until we got what we needed. Owner seems to be at premise most of the time and keeps an eye on it. Something I hope they can maintain at this level as we will come back.

Promising, but follow up needs touch up.
Nice reviews of the hotel and the location next to the Klong Muang Beach made us choose for The Pelican. We booked the Deluxe 2 Bedroom Pool Suite and were excited of having our own pool. Yet, what a disappointment on arrival; there was glass and rubbish all around our pool, the windows around the balcony dirty. It was that I already booked and paid for 5 nights, otherwise I had left on arrival. I went to the reception to ask for help; they would send someone right up to fix it. But that did not happen and the next day, at noon, I had to complain again before somebody was sent upstairs. I now asked to speak to the manager. The reception said he/she was in a meeting, but would definitely come back to me with a solution/ compensation. At check out, I asked where the manager was; he/she was still in a meeting…not very classy handling, to say the least! Although we made the best of our stay, the first impression remains on our mind. The hotel sure has potential, rooms very clean and spacious and the staff were very nice, but the maintenance and the management could need some rethinking and fine tuning..

Nice hotel close to the beach.
The hotel is across the street from the beach with restaurants on the beach. Great tasting food at the local restaurants. We had a great 2 bedroom apartment with a pool facing the ocean on the 4th floor. Amazing. The staff were very friendly.

Utterly disgusting stay with Pelican Robbers.
Hotel Pelican Reception Staff is a bunch of Goons n Dacoits. We had 3 rooms which the goon staff opened n gave the keys for 2 rooms. 3rd room was attached so we also did not feel the need to ask for its key. When Checking out these Robbers asked for the key of 3rd room also which was never provided to us. Then they charged 3000 Bahts as key replacement .They robbed us on the pretext of a frivolous keys name with 3000 Bahts. As we had to leave for the airport we could not report the matter. But I have complained to the Hotel.Com to help n look into the injustice n cheatery. Hotel.com has assured me of giving relief.

Ok condition hotel but staff needs training
We stayed there for 3 nights. We changed the room in 2nd night due to stinky smell from bathroom. We complained to the staff, they made us wait for about almost an hr. Then they gave a new room, but we found out one of the room was used prorbably just not too long ago without deep cleaning. We found some hairs on bed, and bathroom with some sorts and stain. Worst part was, we found the water in fridge was opened and seems like someone drank it and just left it there. Staff didn’t check well before gave us that room. Then after they gave us another room, totally it took about 90mins just to solve one issue. It was a really frustrated night for us. Whenver we asked something, they seems like they do know anything. Truely disappointing. Hotel itself it’s nice and good for family, but staff just need training and improvement.

Absolutely the best!
Absolutely awesome! Great place to launch into all the activities of the area along with a tranquil setting and away from busy crowds. We lived the 2 bedroom suites with plunge pool. A must for a relaxing retreat from a busy day swimming in the ocean and snorkeling.

Condo type near the beach
The location was good, just across the street was a quiet beach far from the hustle of Ao Nang. The room itself looks a bit run down and quickly made. It’s not old but already feels used. It’s good for families with kids. The breakfast was ok but not much choice. Friendly staff as usual

Reasonable hotel let down by poor management.
Hotel was generally fine. The pool is the central feature but this was cloudy for the first two days. After the pool maintenance team did their thing it clears and was fine. Bathroom suffered from mosquitos. We couldn’t figure out where they were coming from. Buffet breakfast was fine. Location was fine. The big problem was in billing. At checkin I was asked to pay. They then over charged me due to confusion over reservation numbers. They subsequently agreed they had made an error but claimed their policy was to refund within 90 days. This is not acceptable. They should refund straight away. They appeared to has enough no authority to do this. Only when I lost patience after two hours of discussion did they contact the owner in Bangkok who then did an internet transfer to one of the staff who then ran down the road to an ATM to draw out the cash to pay me back. That is NOT how to run a hotel. This episode ruined an otherwise great holiday.

Close to the beach
Hotel was a very close walk to the beach which was nice. Staff were very disorganized and often had to ask the same questions multiple times in order to receive at least half an answer as they would start dealing with other customers behind you in line, say just a minute and disappear somewhere. Another thing we didn't like was that in order to have your room cleaned you had to hand in your key everyday (which we didn't learn until our last full day anyway). Seemed that our room was recently renovated? There was paint splatters on the doors, sink, faucets, etc and we only saw construction workers in the rooms on our floor. Air conditioner and sink leaked and we called twice for a repair person but after it took them an hour each time we just put a towel down as we wanted to enjoy our vacation. Pool attached to the room was nice but the jets and lights were turned off on the day before we left and never came back on, and as above, we didn't bother calling because we didn't want to fight for an answer and wait all day to have someone come look at it. Bed was comfortable. Location was close to lots of restaurants and shops to by beer and snacks.

Glad we stayed
We weren't sure where to stay and a friend recommended. We enjoyed our stay, but wanted to be closer to Aonang where there was more activity. The hotel was clean, nice and comfortable. The walk around the gate was no biggie, many seemed to find inconvenient, but very short distance that was safe and nice. Didnt get why so manyboeople made a big deal about it. The beach is super close and chill.

Beautiful hotel but far from the beach
This hotel was located just outside of Ao Nang. Very beautiful and clean. Great amenities. Breakfast very mediocre and an expensive cab ride to Ao Nang beach. If you want a quick walk to the beach this isn't the place for you. If you want quiet at the end of the night and don't mind a 400-500 baht cab ride to Ao Nang and back, this is a great place to stay and very nice little restaurants around. Staff was great.

PERFECT!!
This is a perfect place to go with family or as a couple , you will absolutely love this place! The place is clean and beautiful clear water. The rooms are wonderful everything you need .just being clothes nothing else is needed! The staff is great very helpful , respective! Definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Good hotel in quiet part of Krabi
we enjoyed our stay at the Pelican. The room was clean and comfortable and the hotel is located just 100 meters from the beach. Overall a great experience.

Lovely !
No complaints. Beautiful resort. Wonderful woman named Rose who rented us scooters across the street. Pelican is abit remote so this little gem made the stay even better to come and go. Great resort.

3 bedroom pool villa with seaview in klong muang
Stayed in possibly the best room in the hotel where we can view gorgeous sunset while lounging in our own infinity pool. Great stay for a quiet do-nothing holiday. However, beach is not great for swimming - rocky bottom, many long tails and water is not clear. As for villa, needs better pillows that stay puffed. Breakfast is not great either. Hotel has nice landscape but can see that it is hard to upkeep. Staff is friendly. Day trip to Tubkeak beach is worth it for the nice beach (but railey's still the best ). Nice villa is best highlight for the 3nights stay. If only, there were more amenities nearby.
