The advertising photographs are very old. The property itself needs some upkeep, rotted through balustrades upstairs around the terrace bar which are very dangerous, the room was a bit mouldy. You cannot change money at the reception and there is no tour desk.. BUT the breakfast buffet was really good, the food at Papas Cafe was great, Miss Linda at Papas was wonderful, Miss Lisa - Guest Relations Manager was AWESOME and very helpful - ALL staff were wonderful.

Security guards are a bunch of vultures that pounce on people who they don't feel belongs in the hotel. I run into a friend that I met on a scuba trip and wanted to show her my pics from the trip. She is from Thailand and the guards racially and sexually profiled her and refused to let her come to my room. They totally disrespected and humiliated both of. They have a policy of not letting any non-registered guests into guests rooms. I asked if i could register her now. Answer was no you must register everyone at time you check in. They were so insistent and disrespectful that felt i need to check out and move to another hotel. What hotel refuses to allow you to bring a guest to your room? I have never encountered it before. l told them i wouldbe writing a negative review about this and next day they messaged me this exact text: "We are writing to you to strongly advise you to remove your negative comment on our Instagram account immediately. We are about to send your passport details to the Kuta Police Station and Immigration Department to report on foreigner who are behaving badly." So if you want to stay at a hotel that treats guest and particularly Asian women this badly then suit yourself. If you choose to stay be prepared to find hair littered over your room and bathroom, a toilet that doesn't flush, shower taps that are old and corroded which result in burns trying to get them off, random things broken or falling apart, a bathroom with a hole in ceiling allowingrainandothercreaturescomein

Dear Mr Rodney,We appreciate your opinion. However, hotel policies & procedures are implemented in the interest of the guests and for safety & security reasons. This is due to some serious breach of guests' safety in the past due to "visitors" to guests, room especialy at night and mostly women ( related to illicit drugs & prostitution )Therefore, we trust it's within the hotel's right to implement any procedures in the interest of all our guests, even if it's not acceptable by guests.The hotel has stated these conditions clearly in our website & public area of the hotel.We arrived in Australia yesterday & and were subject to one of the most stringent customs / immigration rules that are strictly implemented to protect its citizens.We hope you understand & accept our actions. Otherwise, you have a choice.Thank you.

The resort was fab. Some rennos in progress but didn’t dampen the feel of holiday. Would definitely come back. Rooms were great. Lived the second pool as often in the shade. Great to be so close to beach and Garlic lane for eating.

good for families , wouldn't recommend for single people. Location on the beach rd , but not much around it , especially if you are a single man catching taxis back after a night out and also not allowed to bring lafy company back

Richard,I think you choose the wrong hotel, knowing its family oriented hotel its right not to allow lady of the night in our Hotel. There is big sign in the lobby says unregistered guest not allow to guest room.This is for own safety for the guest base on past incidents.

The place is quite and near from the beach and shopping .. The staff is very friendly The bad thing was not clean and the bed dirty they didn’t change the sheets and towels every day and it’s unusable just arranged the room without changing After third day I told them then they changed also the internet is poor.

Lovely oasis in Kuta.
This hotel is a lovely peaceful oasis sitting along the road opposite Kuta beach. It is a very short walk from lively restaurants and bars yet as soon as you pass through the hotel reception area, it is so peaceful. I think COVID closure has taken its toll.on the facilities but they are updating the rooms and grounds at the moment. This didn't cause any noise or inconvenience to us during our stay. We stayed in an Alum Villa which was lovely. If I was being really picky, my only complaint would be that the bathroom towels could have been bigger. All the staff were fantastic. Very good value hotel, especially considering its location. It is 5 minutes walk from the possibly more upmarket Legian beach.

Alum Kulkul is a small friendly well located boutique hotel to spend time. Opposite a safe and clean beach with lots of shops to explore.

A very charming place. Loved the greenery inside the premises. Staff is very nice. Buffet breakfast has a small spread but all items are quite good and fresh. I am taking away one star from my rating as my room was on second floor without any elevator, and there was no view from the room. The bathing area in the bathroom does not have any door or curtain (another hotel where I stayed in Bali had the same issue) due to which whole bathroom gets wet.

Booked for 3 nights (non-refundable), left after 1 night. Rooms are not as shown in pictures, sheets and towels were stained, ac started leaking water at night when I was sleeping. Don’t pay without looking at the rooms.

The villas had a lovely Bali feel that transported you from the craziness of the city. They staff were the most amazing people and were so nice and always willing to help you. The buffet breakfast was delicious. The only thing I wish was that it has gym amenities and that the pool was open later because it shut fairly early. Other than that I couldn’t recommend this place enough! Will be back for sure.
