Out of this world in every respect. The Danna oozes quality, charm, service and class. Stunning facilities and food, staff that couldn't be more helpful. No need to venture out if you don't feel like it. It was a fabulous end in luxury to a 24 day trip .

This is a beautiful hotel and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Our luggage was lost by the airline for 2 days and they couldn't do enough to try and help us track it down and make our stay as comfortable as possible in the meantime. The island is beautiful but has clearly been impacted by COVID, we expected shops and restaurants to be in walking distance of the hotel but in reality your only choices are to eat at the hotel or travel to other nearby hotels to eat in their restaurants if you want a bit of variety. The food in the hotel is excellent, even the buffet is very good quality and plenty of choice to cater for all tastes. The hotel is very popular with families so is not ideal for couples as there is no dedicated adults only pool, meaning you don't get much peace and quiet relaxing by the main pool. The hotel could also do more to be environmentally friendly, eg installing water refill points instead of handing out hundreds of plastic bottles. Overall a lovely stay and definitely recommended if you're visiting Langkawi

While the island has indeed been affected by Covid, we do have many offerings on-site for our discerning guests, be it families, couples or those seeking for a workation. In regards to sustainability, allow us to assure you that we are on the right path – single use plastic being removed from our accommodation, wooden key cards, QR stands in rooms as compared to printed collateral, starting our own water bottling plant and many more initiatives which you’ll be hearing about very soon. Great hotel, People and service excellent. Only criticism is that its away from hustle and bustle. 25 minutes to Chenang Beach etc. However, Grab is cheap so wasn't an issue. Definitely recommend.

Amazing stay in every way
We stayed at the Danna for 5 nights during our trip travelling around Malaysia, it wasn't only the best hotel we stayed in during our stay in Malaysia but its one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. Langkawi is an absolutely beautiful island but the location of the Danna is stunning, hotel in general is really special, lovely rooms, beautiful gardens and pool area with a colonial feel throughout. The staff made it really difficult for us to leave - we would have stayed longer if we could have. A very special mention to Salim - the head of food and drinks who constantly went over and above anything we would have expected (he also has some great restaurant recommendations as well - although the food at the hotel is great). Salim's bar team were all great - we had a lot of fun with Danise (pronounced Denis) each evening - him and his team were brilliant. I highly recommend staying here!

Cozy resort where service is confidently understood and surpasses 5 star. Outstanding attention to guests and service. Maybe the best we’ve ever experienced. The hotel is gorgeous. Beautiful beach and generous pool area. Enough loungers to accommodate everyone. Nice little harbor area on one side of the hotel. Relaxing atmosphere. Excellent buffet breakfast where you can also order ala carte if you wish. Great selection of foods and the dinner option is affordable and worthy. We had dinner twice at the resort over 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. Check in was also outstanding and everything was explained and shown to us upon arrival. They bend over backwards to assist you with anything like directions, activities, general knowledge of the area. The competition on the island cannot compare to the excellent service and attention we received. Thanks to all personnel at the hotel for their kindness and warm genuine smiles and sincere sparkling attitudes. We wish everyone at the hotel our best wishes for a wonderful stay.

The hotel decor and grounds is stunning and the breakfast was very good. The first room we were in smelled moldy but staff were very helpful and got us into another room. Very courteous staff. Unfortunately a lot of restaurants close by closed due to the pandemic but hopefully with time will come back. Beach and pool area is beautiful.

5 star price at 2 star service.
Service is definitely not up to par with 5 star hotel standards. Took 40 minutes to check in with 4 different staff assisting. Felt like I was at a bad government agency where everything takes forever. Bags arrived more than 30 minutes after we checked in to our rooms making us wait around even longer. Got one tea at the bar and when I went to check out saw that they charged for 2. I corrected them and they proceeded to get three different people and management and still could not figure it out. The price of the tea was $3 so they wasted a bunch of my (and staff time) over a $3 tea that they double charged. This is completely not the experience I expect when paying this much money and choosing to stay at a 5 star resort. Overall the hotel had no vibe, poor service and nothing "special". It was also quite far away from any decent restaurants.

First Time but not the Last time
This was our second time to Langkawi, but our first stay at the Danna. We went with a couple friends of ours and had a lovely time! The service was great, the food options good and we loved the overall look and feel of the hotel - including the entertainment in the evenings at The Verandah. The only disappointing thing was that as a VIP Gold Member, we're meant to get an upgrade when available which I was told they were full. In all honesty, the hotel felt at 30% capacity so was disappointed not to get special treatment, especially on our anniversary. In saying that, the room we had was amazing and we will definitely be going back to the Danna in the future! Also, the SPA was under renovation and they were still charging full price for treatments which didn't feel fair given they had converted a hotel room for the treatment and you could hear noises outside the room. But the treatment itself was great, just felt like there could've been a discount given it was at their spa.

Surprisingly, the horel has an outstanding Italian restaurent. It rivals the best Italian restaurant I have eaten anywhere, including Tuscany. Amazing. The staff is very helpful. The breakfast and room service has very good Southeast Asian dishes. Overall, my stay was very pleasant.

The service at The Danna hotel is one of the best we have experienced here in Malaysia. The staff are always friendly and ready to help. We enjoyed the breakfast variety. The pool area is big so there was ample distancing between us and other guests. We were upgraded to a Marina View room, which was a nice surprise. Our favourite part of the room is the bathroom with its rain shower. The valet service was really helpful. The in-room service food was good. Here's what we thought could improve: 1. We stayed right opposite the lifts on our floor and they had scheduled renovation works arranged for one of the lifts, not peaceful as we tried to take a nap one afternoon. Perhaps don't place guests near renovation works next time. 2. The kid's club was only available from Friday-Sunday which was a bummer for our daughter as she loves exploring toys and doing activities with other people. Please have this service open all days as the kids really do love it. 3. The bar was only open at happy hours from 5-7pm. Please keep it open until 10pm as it would be nice to have a night-cap down at the bar. 4. We were a party of 3, two adults and our daughter who is 7. At breakfast the people seating us always sat us at a table for 2 and we felt squished. Overall our stay was good, a much needed break from the hustle and bustle of work.

We are delighted that you have enjoyed your stay from the warmth and friendliness of the team to the well appointed Marina Room with its rain shower. We truly regret that the noise coming from the maintenance work during your stay. Rest assured we have assigned guests to rooms away from maintenance work area. Regarding the kid's club, it is open daily, for the safety of our guests, we have allowed only 1 family at a time to enter the kid's club to avoid physical contact. We will definitely look into the Verandah operation hours and the seating at breakfast. Once again, we thank you for your review and we definitely look forward to welcome you back to The Danna soon.
