Ok.. here is my review! If you are looking for a fancy Ritz, keep looking elsewhere. This hotel is located in one of the oldest parts of Lisbon and one of the hardest areas to get around by foot (soooo much climbing) and sometimes by car can be a challenge. Since the hotel has no elevator this can be an issue if you have any health issues. Solar dos Mouros is old, well kept and charming and the staff is truly the best. The bakery next door is a treat. I also highly recommend to get ALL of your tickets before you go on any tours to these incredible sites, the lines and wait times can be hours!!! If possible, higher a tour guide for the day trips!! Lisbon is really incredible. Enjoy:)

Our room had to be one of the best in Lisbon! Great view of the city. Short walk to many great restaurants, shopping, and must see neighborhoods. Friendly, thoughtful staff. Great service, clean room. Highly recommended.

Service is outstanding in this hotel. Francois and Rio are great hosts and always available for help. The view from our room was impresive. There is a good restaurant at the property, Close to Castillo San Jorge, restaurants,miradores,bars and craft& shops.

We had a wonderful stay at Solar dos Mouros. Centrally located - just steps from Castelo de Sao Jorge - with numerous dining and shopping options in the immediate vicinity, Solar dos Mouros was the perfect point-of-departure for exploring all that Lisbon has to offer. We stayed in the Duplex Suite with windows on three sides, offering stunning river, city, and street views. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were very gracious and accommodating. Francois, in particular, was the perfect host, greeting us each morning with a radiant smile, offering suggestions on sights to see, and facilitating interactions among the guests. The only thing we would change would be to stay longer next time.

The staff were terrific. Special shout out to Francois. He was so kind and helpful. The location could not be better, but if you have mobility issues, Lisbon is not for you. I am recovering from knee surgery, and I have a torn ACL, so I was physically demanding, but the hotel staff did whatever they could to help me, including getting me ice to apply to my knee. Welcome fruit was delicious, and the food at the hotel was so good. Staff knew gluten and the need to eat gluten-free because I had celiac. Overall great experience.

Love, love, love Solar dos Mouros. Wonderful, friendly and helpful staff, nice, clean rooms, beautiful views and good food... I could continue to rave about them but you should check them out yourself. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend Solar dos Mouros.

Property is in the heart of the historical area of Lisbon. The staff is absolutely amazing! But nowhere in the reservation I was informed that you can NOT get to the hotel by car, the street is closed, so you need to drag your luggage to the hotel. That’s was definitely not a happy surprise after arriving tired.

We stayed in the attic room with the balcony. The views was breathtaking. The room was gorgeous. Exactly what you see online is the truth. The staff was friendly helpful and funny. But the 7 flights of stairs is legit. But worth the best views of the city. Highly recommended

My wife and I stayed at Solar Dos Mouros the week of April 24. We found bed bugs in our bed and reported this to management (Bruno) who told us this had never happened before. We asked for a refund but the hotel offered us 2 nights of credit for a future stay, however we live in the US, not Portugal, so this was not reasonable compensation for us. Lovely hotel and location but we left covered in bed bug bites and had to destroy a bunch of clothing and do not feel the hotel really apologies for the adverse experience or tried to make it right. Disappointed.

We had a wonderful time at Solar dos Mouros in Lisbon. We stayed at the top floor terrace with a deluxe suite that had a stunning view of the city and the river from the balcony. The room was spacious, comfortable. The only drawback is that there is no elevator in the property, so we had to walk 72 flights of stairs up to our room daily. However, this was not a big problem for us as we enjoyed the exercise and the charming atmosphere of the hotel. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They helped us carry our heavy luggage up and down the stairs when we checked in and out. They also gave us great recommendations for places to visit and eat in Lisbon. The included daily breakfast was tasty and varied, with fresh bread, cheese, ham, fruit, yogurt and coffee. The surrounding areas and streets near the hotel are just delightful. We loved exploring the narrow alleys, colorful buildings and quaint shops of Alfama district. The Number 28 tram is just a few minutes walk away from the hotel, which makes it easy to get to other parts of the city. We highly recommend Solar dos Mouros for anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay in Lisbon.

The staff at the hotel were beyond just helpful. They went out of their way to ensure anything we needed or any help we wanted, was provided. Our stay was perfect and we would definitely stay there again next time to Lisbon. It's well located in the city. Once you know the elevators, its' easy to get downtown and back up. You need to be able to manage a few stairs in the hotel. The staff handled all the bags.

We had a wonderful stay! The breakfast was excellent and the staff was wonderful! My only warning, to get to your room you have to go down a flight of stairs with no elevator, so I would not recommend for anyone with walking difficulties!

Wow a fabulous boutique hotel within steps of the Castle! This place oozed charm. We got an executive duplex room which was really spacious (2 stories), very clean, excellently appointed en suite and furnished in a very hip modern yet comfortable style. The building iis probably a couple hundred years old but totally modernized. Momo was so helpful with all our accommodations! We will be back. The rooftop terrace had a lovely river view and was quite relaxing. This was a girls trip and it was perfect location.

This place is different from many similar properties in that the staff truly make you feel welcome, are very helpful, courteous. The rooftop deck is a plus.

Beware! This hotel has no elevator. It’s old and beat up. The pictures don’t tell the true story. I booked it thinking it looks nice, but boy oh boy was I wrong. The rooms are old, not renovated, and beat up. The bathroom is small and awful, but the worst thing is that the hotel runs out of hot water and there are times when you have no hot water or have to wait over 15 minutes. Another note is that the staff are particularly rude. Most were awful. Some were ok. For the price, I don’t think I got a good value and could have done much better in Lisbon.

Most incredible view on the River View suite room 6- better than many of the so-called best viewpoints in Lisbon. The Staff led by Bruno and Mo-Mo were very friendly, professional and excellent. This hotel has a Fado dinner which was a fun event.

The staff was so welcoming and helpful. Rooms have beautiful view and they welcomed me with wine and fruit. Small hotel in a great area. It should be noted the area requires a lot of walking up stairs /hills to get to so not accessible for people with mobility issues. Only recommendation for improvement is for them to provide body lotion in the bathrooms. Will definitely return and recommend to all!
