The hotel is located in the industrial area of Lisbon. It was adequately clean. The staff we found were not very friendly and said they were too busy to give assistance when needing help checking in for our flight. When pressured they finally gave us some help. Breakfast buffet had a good assortment and the breakfast lady manager worked very hard while her 2 assistants were slow and un-engaging. She certainly needed more help. The dinner staff was extremely slow. It took a long time for them to acknowledge you were there even present though the restaurant area was practically empty. It then took them over a half hour to fix an omlette with fries.

The air conditioning wasn't working in either room on the same floor, so we had to traipse down to reception with all our luggage before they re-allocated us to two new rooms on a different floor. Switches in all four rooms we had the pleasure of visiting worked intermittently and in fact one of them was hanging off unsafely. The phone in the bathroom is a rather unique feature. To add to this rather dated and tired hotel located at what appears to be the edge of an industrial estate, we had to pay twice for our rooms. These rooms were booked in clerical error, as we needed them 3 weeks previously when we were actually in Lisbon. We booked them the night before and not 24 hours later arrived at the hotel to realise we had somehow unwittingly booked the wrong date!! We had booked non-refundable rooms as we needed them for the next day. The hotel were uncompromising and uncompassionate to the point of being insolent - there would be no refund - we would have to pay again. There was no management available - only junior members of staff. Expedia were no help in this matter.

Great hotel, not best location in terms of seeing the main parts of lisbons or travelling to the beaches but the hotel itself was great

Not a 4 star
Not a 4 star hotel. Not clean, not confortable enough. Not even a coffee maker in the room. Location seems to be an industrial area, only reachable by car.

The hotel was a good choice for a one night stay close to the airport. The staff were very helpful and friendly and recommended a nice local restaurant which pricing wise was very reasonable and the food was good.

Oh well...
The staff is what makes this place good. The facility is really old and badly needs a facelift that is well overdue!! The rooms were nice 20 years ago but today, it simply bad. The walls are paper thin that you hear every flush of every toilet around, the closing of doors and the faintest of conversations. The pillows provided are simply awful and the Internet WiFi is atrocious. The staff is simply great all around, hospitable and accommodating and very friendly but there is a lot to be desired in the hotel otherwise.

Excellent hotel. Good value. I would stay there again. Interesting place in that it’s in the heart of an industrial area. It’s not exactly a tourist area, possibly more of a business clientele, so you have to be good at what you do in order to survive. The staff at the VIP Santa Iria excel in providing quality service.

Holiday in Portugal
This place was the best bang for our buck about 15 minutes by car to Lisbon center. We booked it same day for the day before Halloween. It wasn’t the best value for your money, if you shop ahead of time. Since we were last minute booking it worked for us. They took us at about 12 o’clock when is check in was at 2 for no additional fee however, the room did not have A/C. If we wanted to wait until check in time at 2 we would have had A/C but because we wanted to get to the room asap there was no A/C. The staff spoke English very well and were extremely accommodating in helping us get a COVID test (again, last minute) so that we could get on the airplane to come back to US. Being in a pandemic the staff and facility was really clean and everyone wore masks.

Close drive to the airport. We stayed one night to get our flight the next day. There is nothing nearby as it is close to the port and industrial area. The hotel has a nice restaurant and a pool. No gym.

AC on heat only mode in May. No cold air. Too hot.
Hotel advertises air conditioning but central control unit in heat mode only. Room temperature could only be changed in degrees of heat. Our room temp was preset to 30 degrees C when we entered. When we asked for cool air we were told at reception that management had decided to keep system on heat only at that time as it was deemed too early for cooling. Reception changed us to a room that had fully opening window rather than vent size only but we had an extremely uncomfortable stay and bad nights sleep prior to flight. Room condition was poor given price and advertised standard of hotel. Rooms in need of refurbishment and furniture replacement. Bed mattress was way overdue for renewal. Bathroom tiles cracked and overall grubby. Unfortunately availability of parking and proximity to airport brought us back to this hotel for a second time. It will be our last. After 90 days in Portugal and Spain this hotel was one of the most disappointing overall. The plus side to our stay were the staff particularly Bruno on reception and housekeeping.

Great stay, comfy and clean
We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. The check in was very fast and we quickly get to our room. The room was at a very good temperature, clean and the bathroom shiny with the normal amenities. We had a very good night sleep, quiet and the bed was comfy. The curtains overlap so the light does not enter all in the morning which is a very plus to me.
