I booked a room overlooking Lake Baikal & I wasn't disappointed ! The view was superb. These room itself was pretty small but that's ok, since it would be easier to keep warm. However, the heating in the room was inadequate it was quite chilly in the room, even with the radiator cranked up to 5. The bed was comfy with warm duvets, which somewhat compensated for the lack of adequate heating. The hotel is located by the main road to Listvyanka village. Listvyanka is a picturesque village at the south west end of Lake Baikal...... It's about 3-3.5km from the hotel to the village center & along the way there are several interesting museums, cafes, restaurants & of course the lake itself.

Stunning view trumps small issues
The Legenda Baikal offers fantastic value for money. We had 2 nights there and found it very comfortable, thanks to a very spacious room and huge bathroom. The view on to Baikal Lake is superb. The faux-Versace decor is not really to our taste and there are aspects of the hotel that need renovation, but none of this is serious. The wifi is erratic and sometimes the hot water was on the tepid side, but our room was always warm and cosy. The breakfast buffet is generous, although everything quickly becomes cold as no flames were lit under the bain-maries. All these are tiny issues when one considers the very reasonable price for its spectacular location.

On Expedia I purchased two superior twin rooms with balcony and views of the lake. When I arrived we were shown to two standard double rooms in the back of the building. We were there with three kids so this was unacceptable. I showed the reservation on Expedia and we given one standard room with a balcony and lake view, and one room with no balcony or view, just slightly larger. The hotel blamed Expedia. We would have left except I'm in Russia with a 3 and 2 year-old and it's winter. I will not be using Expedia again to reserve hotels, and perhaps not flights either.

Номера сильно отличаются между собой, звукоизоляции практически нет. Уборки номеров за 4 ночи не проводилась. Однако хочу поблагодарить ресторан, хорошее обслуживание и вкусная еда.

施設のスタッフはとてもフレンドリーで英語も堪能だった。部屋や中庭から見えるバイカル湖の眺めも素晴らしく、バイカル博物館シベリア動物園などリストヴァンカ で数少ない見所施設へのアクセスも最高、あとロシア旅行中で室内でwifiが通じる数少ない施設だったのも高評価。悪かったところは村の中心まで4キロ程離れており、マイナス20度の環境ではタクシーを使わなければ移動が難しかった所。

No 4* hotel. Maybe 2*
The hotel is old and far from „downtown“. The rooms are oldish and it the bath smelled. There is only one cafe on the other site of the street. The breakfast was really bad. Instant coffee, weird tasting juice, no fruits, hard boiled eggs, some cheese and meat, pancakes were good. Nice view on the lake! I wouldn‘t come back. To expensive for what you get.

Piscina é cobrada à parte!
O hotel é fantástico para o preço que paguei. Boas instalações, bom café da manhã. Vista para o lago Baikal incrível. Lystivianka é meio parada no outono, mas isso não é culpa do hotel. Só me desagradou cobrarem 500 rublos pra usar a piscina interna aquecida. Não lembro de ter lido isso na página do hoteis.com quando reservei o quarto.
