"Beware: you will be charged an additional city tax at check-in... this is not included or shown in the Hotels.com price. This is the ONLY hotel I've known to do this and it is borderline dishonest that this is not shown as 'to be paid at the hotel'. The room is small - if you have more than one item of luggage you will struggle. Room door fits badly - gap underneath - so you hear everyone in the corridor (and even in other rooms). No lift to first floor - you will have to lug your suitcase up the stairs. Bed comfortable and bathroom clean. Good bus service (takes 25mins to city) and not too far (20min walk) from Schwerin Gorries station. Check-in is strictly after 3pm. I won't be making a return visit!"

"We arrived about an hour and a half before check in opened, but there were no parking spots, so we had to park in a public car park a few blocks away. We were offered a welcome drink, but at the bar were then told that this only covered coffee - as it was about 30 degrees outside, we kindly declined. The room was very comfortable, clean and tastefully furnished. It was one of those rooms that you just feel really cosy and at home in, so that was perfect. Breakfast was a little chaotic - it was busy holiday time, granted, but with the squeeze in the breakfast room it didn't seem particularly relaxing. Location of the hotel is good - right by the beach."
