Let's start with the plus sides. Location of the hotel was excellent, it's a part of Paris I don't know well, and so it gave us a chance to have a look around. Unlike being more central you really feel like you're in a community. There's loads of bars and restaurants, the metro is close, there's supermarkets to hand, and of course a ton of interesting places to walk around and visit.
We were greeted by a really polite fella when we checked in, very helpful. The room was comfortable, a little small, but in all honesty, I can't ever remember staying in a big room in Paris, unless spending a tad more money. The bed was small but comfortable, the room had a fridge which is handy, and was well lit, and something else of a bonus, had loads of power points and USB sockets. The shower room was small again, but a lovely shower, the only trouble was there was no shower door, so plenty of floor towels were used. Oh, the light switches are in a strange position, so when the sliding closed it would sometimes turn the lights on or off!!!
There were 2 minor (?) issues with the room (rm 18), there's some air con (?) unit that kept coming on which was quite noisy, and would disturb the lighter sleeper. We had the windows open to let in some air and it was audible. The other was noise from staff about 6:30/7-ish moving bins or something similar, I got woken twice, my wife three mornings, so not brilliant.
There's more but I'm out of space. I've stayed in better but I've stayed in worse.
