hotel is located strategically within georgetown with areas of interests, be it food or architecture within walkable distance. staffs were courteous and helpful. however facilities within rooms are another matter. 1. it would seem batteries of in-room safes are not checked for charge as ours could not be opened after locking. wall towards window where air-conditioning was blowing has not been cleaned for a long while and dust can be clearly seen collecting there. 2. to those who do not utilise bathtub, it is suggested that you request for room with standing bath instead. seems some rooms are left with bath tub after renovation for whatever reason.

I have booked Hotel Jen Penang Georgetown via Experia. I was also asked and agreed to take the option of early check-in, paying RM118 for this option by Jen Penang. When I check-in at about 11.00am, I was given a room with a King sized bed. When I told the Front desk lady that I booked a deluxe twin room, she insisted that what is being shown in her system is a king sized bed room. When I asked for a change to a deluxe twin room, she insisted that the king sized bed room is what I have booked. So, I took the king sized bed room but upon using the wash basin to wash my hand, the wash basin was choked and water cannot drained off. I asked for a technician to repair and the technician was good and arrived within ten minutes. The water choke was cleared after he fixed the screw to the drainage lifter for water to drain off. Then I took out my hard copy of confirmed room booking at Jen Penang to the same lady at the Front desk. Now, she cannot insisted that I have booked a king sized bed room and agreed to change my room to a twin room after 4 pm. I am frustrated and disappointed as to why a twin room was not prepared for me since my early check-in was approved, confirmed and paid for before my stay on 22 March 2024. My first impression of Jen Penang was and is poor customer service at the Front Desk. After getting the correct room after 5pm, every other services are good, from housekeeping, breakfast service, concierge, etc. Will continue with another page by for checkout.

The hotel is located within the compounds of the Komtar area. There’s a CAT bustop just beneath the hotel and is just next to First Avenue Mall. The hotel is a little old, but the room and facilities are modern and updated. Good price point and will come back again. Do upgrade to club room if possible.

Hotel Jen is good for its cleanliness, the counter staffs were friendly and handles our request promptly. The room was clean and service was done daily. Appreciate their helpfulness and will definitely recommend this property.

Without a doubt, this hotel ranks among the best I've experienced. Spare yourself the search and book here. With its exceptional staff and immaculate rooms, it sets a high standard. Our stay was so delightful that we extended it by two days. Situated conveniently in a bustling part of town, near two large shopping malls and numerous dining options. Plus, it's within reasonable distance of Georgetown's main attractions. I'm certain I'll return to this superb hotel when back in Penang. The quality and value offered here are unbeatable.

Hotel is in a great location in downtown George Town and is within walking distance of a lot of places of interest. The hotel itself is excellent and with excellent facilities. My room was very nice, with a very comfortable bed and great bedding. Often the pillows leave a lot to be desired but not here, they were very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great, lots of choices to suit all tastes and great quality. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Overall a great place to stay and would recommend.

The club lounge access allows you to enjoy breakfast, afternoon tea and club lounge access (other than breakfast and afternoon tea) at the 2nd top most floor with amazing food and quite an amazing view. Would recommend for everyone to try the club access if you are patronizing this hotel for your stay. Had a pleasant stay with my family consisting of 1 y.o. infant.

Pros: Generally, the room was clean, however there was a shoe stain on the sofa bed. Since we were a group of three, we liked that we were provided with three sets of amenities without having to ask for them after checking in. The sofa bed for the third person was ready upon check in, which was a plus point. Strong Wi-Fi. Good location, within walking distance of about 15 mins to Georgetown. Tasty street food and vegetarian cafes located within walking distances of the hotel. Easily accessible, with 1st Avenue Mall next to it. Room was ready for check in upon arrival at 12pm. Charging points at hotel lobby for those who needed a quick charge of their mobile devices. Helpful concierge in assisting with depositing luggages on check out and arranging for taxi to airport. Cons: Lift doors were not sensitive, they did not open upon closing on guests. Although we could check in early, we only managed to enter the room about one hour later as the room cards could not work. We went down to the reception thrice, and were given a new set of cards each time, but none worked. Finally on the third trip down to the reception, the manager went up with us to the room to check, only to find that the battery for the card sensor was dead. But it was good that the issue was resolved promptly and a technician arrived within the next 5-10 minutes to change the battery. The service phone on our floor lobby was not working, hence we could not call the reception and had to make the trip down.

On 19-23 Nov 2023 stay, found silverfish and showed hotel staff pictures, requested room change but staff refused. After cleaning, no refill of toilet paper. Very disappointed. Cannot go there or recommend anyone to stay in this hotel again.

Pillows were too soft and were uncomfortable for me. Very happy for the family room that allowed for the family to sleep comfortably together in the same room. Conveniently located to the heritage areas and nearby malls. Was odd that combs were not provided with the room but that's a minor issue.
