A complete disappointment - Blocked and leaking toilet, rusty and splitting bath making it unusable, loud noisy air conditioning unit made it impossible to sleep, dangerous uneven steps that made some areas in the resort unsafe to walk. Construction site next to main pool was not only extremely noisy but made the use of the main pool unusable due to the layer of dust on the water which also made us question the quality of the water. During our 8 night stay the sheets were never changed. We ended up moving to a 5 star resort that was cheaper in price and far superior in every respect. We were with two other families at the time and all three families had similar experiences to us. The day we left we met another family on the water taxi that were also leaving for the same reasons as us. Would not recommend

There was simply nothing that we did not love about this place. To say that the staff catered to our every need is a massive understatement as they treated us like royalty . From the beach cleaning team all the way through to the front of office manager they catered for our every need. Our Villa and pool were immaculate and we're serviced twice a day. Food and cocktails were exceptional and we have the bellies to prove it. We would not hesitate to recommend this incredible hotel.

Dirty - Huge Disappointment
This was a huge disappointment. We rented a pool villa but found it to be very dirty. The beds were made but it looked like they just remade the bed using the same sheet and blankets previous guests used because we found blonde hair and bread crumbs. Bathroom toilet had used toilet paper from previous guests that were not emptied out. Bathroom sinks did not drain. Worst of all, my wife found a roach in the living room. She's very hygienic so we checked out after one night out of five nights we paid for. We booked through Hotels.com (non-refundable) and asked if it was possible to get at least a partial refund, and the manager said they would like to, but they need to discuss if it's possible through Hotels.com. well, after a few days, we got a letter from Hotels.com saying the hotel would not issue even a partial refund. And I also just noticed Hotels.com no longer allows booking at this hotel through it's we site.

Please do accept our apologies, our only intention is to try to ensure that all our guests only have the best stay with us. It seems we fell way short in this instance. As we discussed and agreed with you at the time, we would process your refund and that it would take up to 14 days to arrive to you.This is still the case, we have authorised everything since 20th December, so you should receive your funds any time now. I have no idea about your conversation with Hotel beds, they are normally very efficient at managing these processes. It seems that there may simply have been some confusion at their end. What I would say is that anyone reading this review and hopefully others is that our feedback is normally exceptional, if something does go wrong (we are human), we are always very quick to react and try our very best to find a solution that makes everyone happy. Unfortunately in this situation, we were unable to have the opportunity to do so.We wish you all the very best for 2023Mark and Team

This is a beautiful island. The spa treatments are excellent but pricey for Thailand. The villas are dated and not cleaned very well. The private pools are very nice but no one cleaned outside around our pool the whole time we stayed. The food is average and expensive. The staff are very friendly but lack proper training often serving the next course while your dirty plates from the first course are still on your table. There are stray dogs wandering around often coming into the restaurant where guests are feeding them so they tend to hang around the tables. There is no adults only restaurant or bar in the evening. While these seem like trivial things to some people this is a 5 star priced resort but is not deserving of 5 stars maybe 3.5/4. If the above mentioned things don’t bother you I sure you be more than happy with the place.

This is a great resort. However there is nothing else on the island but a few little places to eat or buy beer. The resort wants to keep you captive of their prices for drinks and food. My wife who is Thai ended up getting tuk tuk to go buy beer and such. The resort itself has plenty to do including free paddle board, kayak, and small sailing boats. The breakfast buffet is world class.

There was not a hitch. If we forgot something or wanted something, the staff would go out of there way to help us. My missus feet where sore from her sandals. They offered to pick us up everyday and take us anywhere we wanted to go on the island. Absolute care.

The villa we had was fantastic, well laid out, huge for two of us, our own pool. The staff are wonderful, especially when dining. A;an, Hazel and Lacey were great. We were on the all inclusive package, which was the best. Al the little extras that came with it and was great value for money. The food in the main restaurant next to the beach was wonderful. Drinks were great, glasses filled when empty, which is something i have not see before, waiter service, which was efficient and not a problem for any of the staff.

Beautifully landscaped. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Beach was lovely (when the tide goes out, not as pleasing, however not a show-stopper at all). Food was very nice.

Awesome place
Place is great. Reception very helpful. Muay Thai and yoga instructor is super good and fun. The views are amazing. The place is well maintained and if there are any problems, staff will fix it straight away. Buffet breakfast is awesome, be sure to eat at the bar as the view is great! The place seems popular for Chinese and Russian tourists and there are staff on the island who dis Russian and Chinese. Very helpful

This is not a beach resort. There is a dirty beach however the water was muddy and bathing was not reccomended. To get to a beach daily transportation had to be secured upon availability for a fee and between certain hours. Pools and jacuzzis on the property were of dubious cleanliness and the water for the bath and shower was brownish. The resort could use updating. The air conditioning was so noisy as to make falling asleep difficult. The food was average and on the higher end of pricing for local food. Once in the resort you are a captive audience and often forced to use their services unless you go back to Phuket by boat. We have only spent one night in the resort and left the next day as soon as we became aware of the shortcomings. There were a lot of unhappy customers. We were told by some of them that when they tried to bike around the biking trails they came upon a lot of unkempt and dirty areas and felt unsafe. Several groups of people left to find better accomodations. We contacted Expedia and a representative got in touch with the resort manager. He was not any more civil to them then he was to us and refused a refund. The credit cards have backed up their decision since the services provided were not as advertised. Unfortunately this is a resort that Expedia has not fully vetted and should not be falsely advertised. Our alternative accomodations in Phuket were much better and we did get both the pristine beaches and the Thailand experience we were looking for.

Baralio, Thank you for your review. It seems that you have followed up on your promise to try and destroy us online at the time of your departure. I would like to make it very clear to any Expedia readers that this is not really a true account of The Village Coconut island. Of course, the resort is located on a beach. This can be clearly seen by any pictures seen online, both on our website and on the many review sites taken by past guests. The water surrounding Coconut island and Phuket is tidal. This is a natural phenomenon. Whilst the tide recedes, the sea bed is exposed, this naturally gives a different view of the area. Fortunately this only happens at specific times of the month and the water always returns within a few hours. I can categorically confirm that every swimming pool and jacuzzi (200 of them) are tested, dosed and cleaned daily. I'm not sure about your comments of the local area. There is a small local community of mainly fishermen, boat builders and long tail boat drivers. They live a very simple quiet lifestyle. If their living conditions did not meet someones expectations, then I would query expectations before stating that it was unsafe. I have been here for 13 years and have not known of a single crime in that time. Amazing considering your statement. The booking terms clearly state that you booked a non refundable package. Anyway, your threat to destroy us was noted and I sincerely hope that ay readers take this review for what it is. Regards Mark

We had a great Christmas trip here. It is remote but not impossible to get too. Villa was lovely, as was pools, restaurants and slides. We would def recommend for families wanting a break from life. Improvements I would suggest would be Kids club could be a bit more active. More loungers around the pool and beach, not enough for all guests, we ended up on the restaurant seating most days. Eco credentials - I appreciate the effort made by this hotel. Could be a bit better- plastic water bottles still given out at restaurants even though glass bottles in rooms are perfectly fine (Plastic bottles should be by request only.) Some drinks still come with plastic straws even tho paper straws are also used. Not sure why both are needed? Some single use plastics used at buffets too.

Vilas were nice and relaxing. Breakfast area by the blue sea is absolutely stunning. Beach is cleaned regularly and very nice.. We had wonderful experience of snorkelling and also viewing Sunrise from the sea on a private boat, bit expensive but worth it ! Housekeeping is responsive and regular service is good, cleaning an array of cutlery which is provided is very helpful to have inroom dinning by the pool. In Kubbang restaurant seating near food counters houseflies may be bothersome. Thai food is good there, Indian food options are available too, including vegetarian food. Kuccini has good Italian cuisine, with freshly made Pizzas. Koko restaurant is really nice and peaceful, available only evening with prior booking. It’s a gem to observe stars on the deck and have delicious dinner. Pools Although nice, need regular cleaning as lot of leaves and outside materials fall in it. Maybe need covers and using Alum and Chlorine treatment . New arrangement of Pier drop off by small boat was nice, car drop was timely but car towards airport had some AC issue and bothersome being in afternoon of peak tropical summer. Driver tried his best to set it right and then got sorted towards end of journey. Although there were some glitches, overall our experience was a memorable one and would recommend it to others for a peaceful and memorable break near enchanting blue sea , away from hustle bustle of Phuket.

Our back door didn’t shut all the way and there was a hole in the door allowing insects to enter The air on didn’t have fan dividers on one side and this is where a lissard lived, he made an appearance every night The front door had a massive gap and both the top and bottom of the door

Nothing like promotional video, wasn’t what we expected, overpriced transfers too and from mainland, dated, shower leaked, front door with holes, very very very uncomfortable beds, sewage smell in room, very expensive and as a captive audience no other options, food poisoning after first nights stay, very disappointed end to our holiday.would not recommend to anyone or go back.

Dear Nejmi, Thank you for your review. We are very disappointed that we did not fulfill your expectations. We only endeavor to ensure that every guest is fully satisfied when they stay with us. I only wish that you had expressed your dissatisfaction with us during your stay. If we are aware of problems, we can nearly always resolve them easily. I am unsure why you believe the transfer to and from the mainland was expensive. Depending who guests book with, water taxi transfers are sometimes included in the booking prices, others are payable when used. Even when payable, the cost is only 100 baht per person per way. Other Island resorts will charge 2,500+ for their water taxi transfers. I am sure you will agree, that 100 baht compared to 2,500+ baht is a HUGE difference and actually very inexpensive. With regard to your alleged food poisoning. Again, I wish this had been communicated and reported. We take these situations very seriously and like to conduct full investigations , when they are reported. As it is, I cannot comment further as I do not know where your came from, what you ate prior to a arrival, what you ate here and many other factors. We had no other related cases reported at that time, so am suspicious that you may have eaten something prior to arrival. Thank you

This is an amazing stay. You can't help but relax on this island, with the pool, restaurant and bar right by the water. The staff were exceptional in looking after us, and quick to help. We opted for the all-inclusive package, and this was fantastic. We didn't do a lot of the activities, as we just wanted to relax on the island. Try and be there for the Thursday night light show - amazing. We also upgraded to the beachside villa, which was worth it to be by the beach. The housekeeping also did a great job, keeping our rooms clean every day. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and will look at returning for sure. Thank you to Linsley, Alan and Yuth for looking after our needs so well.

we booked the 5 bedrooms beach front pool villa, i saw the max capacity from Expedia is 13 people, but when i book it at Expedia, i input 7 Adualts, 2 childents 2 infants, but when i check in at front desk, i have 1 more adualt added, thay said i needed to pay extra for the additional adualt, 4500 Thai bult, then i wander what is the max capacity for 5 bedroom villa, they said is 10, finally they just charge 1 more child, 2250 Thai bult, it spent about 30 mins to get the key card. when we check in in villa 1, the swimpool is okay, but the villa inside was not cleaned well. when we decided to order in room dinning, we found that there have no enought blow and plate, i made phone call to reception to get enought kitchen utilities, they didnt send house keeper to give me the requirements but they promised. They in room dinning was put insde the platis box only, and the dinning table only have 6 chairs for a 5 bedroom villa. at the beginning, when we swimming on pool, we saw a green snake walking on graden, i call reception again to retified the problem, they send someone to handle it, but at night, we saw snake drill inside our villa througt the sliding door between the graden and living room, then we call again, they send someone to handling it as well, but after 30mins, the snake came again, we cant accept this villa and the reception ask if we want to change another villa, we said okay, 30mins later, a truck diver came and ring the bell, he ask us to change to villa 18, bu

The 5 Bedroom Beachfront Pool Villa is amazing for the part of 9 adults and 1 infant. Very spacious living, dining area. However, to get there is quite an adventure, which pier depends on low/high tide, etc.

Unbelievably bad service ..its a money grab
From check in to check out it was a battle with service. Rooms weren't ready when we arrived at 2pm, no one helped with bags without being continuously asked, Door key didnt work when we eventually got to the room, Aircon was louder than living next to heathrow! On a plus side the kids loved the pools and slides. Hotel is clearly in need of renovation both building and staff! Rare to find a thai person. May aswell have gone to the Philippines!

Reading your last sentence.... maybe you stayed somewhere else?? We have over 400 staff working at The Village, 30 of which are from the Philippines and 370 (approximately ) are Thai???????
