Wow! Spectacular views and lovely rooms
The Villa is a very charming, old world, boutique hotel. When we first arrived i was very concerned because one of our group is handicapped and I saw steps everywhere! But there were two rooms that didnt require steps and they were perfect. The views from the rooms are spectacular. Our host Sven was remarkable,. He was able to get us an English speaking driver, David, (who also accepted US dollars) for a tour of Rio. If you need a driver and David is available, you've hit the jackpot. The only drawback to the hotel is that it realy isn't within walking distance to anything. I'm told there is public transportation but we didn't use it. Taxis are reasonable but be sure you have Brazilian money or you need a taxi that takes credit cards.

BEAUTIFUL view on Rio and its sunrise. Tram stop is a few minutes walk away. Staff was great help arranging for transportation.

Nice place with potential, but location not great
The hotel has a lot of potential - the views are incredible, it's a beautiful house, Rosa (the receptionist) is lovely and helpful, the rooms are spacious and nicely laid out, but the rooms are a bit dated and could do with a revamp. The area of the hotel is its biggest downfall - there is nothing in the immediate area, and you do need Ubers. Sometimes the Ubers would cancel, or take 15 mins to arrive, because of the location. There is also a favela nearby, which in itself is NOT a problem, as I don't believe that makes it unsafe, it's just there's nothing else around so you MAY stand out as a target or just feel out of place. I had no issues, but I would literally jump into Ubers there and back. For the nice views, it was worth staying here, however if I returned, I would prefer to stay in a busier area where I could walk to local shops and amenities and not have to rely on Ubers.

Te pasan cualquier habitación, no lo que reservas No es lo lindo que muestra la pagina WI FI de lo peor No pagaría ni la mitad de lo que cobran El taxi de Aeroporto Hotel Aeroporto, lo paga uno y NO el hotel como anuncia la pagina. Se desentienden de todo, el gerente lo único que dice, es que ellos no pueden hacer nada y que el cliente debe llamar a EE. UU para contactarse con WIKIPEDIA, todavía nadie me da una explicación realmente explicita Nunca voveria

Minha estadia no The Villa foi muito agradável, checkin rápido, atenderam minha solicitação quando pedi o quarto Corcovado que por sinal é muito bonito, confortável e tem uma vista de tirar o fôlego. Únicas ponderações foi que só recebemos uma única toalha no quarto e dois roupões, para ficarmos confortável precisaríamos de mais uma toalha e um tapete para o banheiro. O quarto tem hidro e consequentemente o chão molha bastante. Não solicitei mais toalhas por cãibra de só ter me atentado a isso quando a recepção já estava fechada. E Outra ponderação é o banheiro ser mais privado mas isso vai de gosto de cada pessoa. A experiência em resumo foi bastante positiva, voltaria com certeza.
