My initial booking process through Expedia was straightforward, but the confirmation email never arrived. So, I engaged with an Expedia agent who, though polite, offered a rate considerably higher than the one listed on the website. When I questioned this, she regretfully couldn't match the online rate. With my trip looming, I reluctantly accepted the higher cost. Subsequently, I learned that the hotel had shared bathrooms. When I inquired about the specifics, the agent clarified that this sharing was limited to roommates, which, though unusual, was clear.Regarding the San Remo Hotel itself, it's exceedingly compact, with small rooms and limited common areas. Each floor has a single bathroom and shower. The sink is in a communal area, making daily routines uncomfortable with others passing by.Mornings are unconventional, with guests wandering to shared facilities in casual attire. Showers are challenging, especially for larger individuals, as space is tight. Timing is crucial, as there are only two showers for multiple rooms, some housing more than one guest. This can lead to awkward situations and hallway navigation with your towels and toiletries. If time is of the essence and another guest occupies the shower, your only recourse is an equally cramped one upstairs.Unfortunately, the shared bathrooms are insufficient and emit unpleasant odors. Considering the price paid, I couldn't help but think I could have afforded a room at a more upscale hotel.
