The hotel had construction during our stay, including on the weekend with the loud grinding and banging noise by swimming pool and the beach where most people were trying to relax. And the smell of burning metal. It was horrible to have to deal with it especially when we were on vacation. There was no posting about the construction on the website when we booked it.

We just spent a week at Idyllic and had a wonderful time. The gardens are wonderfully landscaped with 2 pools to choose from. We had a room on the second floor looking towards reception. The one drawback is that none of the rooms have privacy/sheer curtains, so you are stuck either having blockout curtains drawn all day or having everyone looking in on you. The bed was on the hard side for us, pillows also firm and high. The hotel is right at one end of sunrise beach which means you don’t have all the long tail boats parked right in front of you, although it’s a coral beach so it can be rough on your feet. The snorkelling off the house reef is one of the best ones we’ve seen. Breakfast buffet was decent. The selection is not huge, but a lot of the hot items are changed daily. There is a lovely chicken noodle bar and also roti station. The wifi was pretty patchy and slow throughout the property. Staff are polite and courteous, we had an issue with very noisy neighbours and asked to change rooms the next morning which was done promptly with no questions. There is a bit of reno going on throughout, so lounging by the beach will be quite noisey, it looks like they should be done by Xmas. There is only 1 shuttle a day at 6pm to walking street, but it’s literally 5 minutes on foot to reach the top of the section.

Well maintained place with nice staff. The service could be better, there are really, lots of mosquitos so make sure to bring mosquito repellent. The wifi was lost because of rain on the first night and never fixed till we checked out. And they gave a coupon that can’t be used when we're paying but must be redeemed when we're ordering which we weren’t informed about and seems inefficient. The breakfast was alright and the food at the restaurant was nice.

We enjoyed our stay at the Idliyic, 2 adults and our 9 yr old. We had a room overlooking the pool (not the main pool and beach). It was lovely and spacious, and suited our r family perfectly. The pools were lovely, we all loved the swim up bar. Food was amazing and only a little more expensive than places to eat outside the hotel. We always made breakfast (which is unheard off) , lunch was amazing and we went to the seafood bbq on the beach. I would def stay here again, although felt the hotel is getting a little tired. But like I said I would stay again in a heart beat. Location on the island was fab, beach was fab, hotel staff were amazing. We had a couple of issues in our room, our air conditioning stopped working during the night (the workmen were at our room within 5mins), they couldn’t fix the problems and within 15 mins of reporting the issue, we were being offered another room for the night, whilst the issue was resolved. It was and were back in at 10am the next day. We couldn’t fault the hotel or staff, we loved it and hopefully we will return soon to the idyllic and Koh Lipe.

Everything was perfect! They made everything so easy from the moment we stepped off the pier we were greeted with hotel crew asking which hotel we were staying at. The man from Idyllic escorted us to his tuk tuk carrying 2 of our large pieces of luggage by hand. We did not arrange for any transportation, it was simply provided without having to request it. Once we arrived we were greeted by welcoming staff members with delicious cold beverages and a nice young lady who I believe might’ve been hotel manager. She helped us with every issue/concern/question we had in the most welcoming manner. What stood out to me was how genuine and sincere the staff was with ensuring a perfect stay for us. They arranged every pick up and drop off for taxis and booked a long tail boat tour on the same day without any hiccups. Aside from their glowing customer service, the hotel amenities impressed me. They offer free kayaks and snorkel gear for the first hour and charge a small fee after that. There are sunbeds available with umbrellas set up directly in front of the beach. Another big perk was that the beachfront to Idyllic was wide open without the congestion of any boats (which is nice because sunrise beach can become quite crowded with boats going in and out). Our room itself was pristine and cleaned to perfection every day. And last but definitely not least, their continental breakfast is fit for royalty. It may be the best breakfast I’ve ever experienced. Thanks so much Idyllic!!!

Unimpressive and disappointing! Stay at the Mali Resort (Sunrise Beach). This is the first time we have stayed at a “resort” and left so disappointed. The room was clean. The bed, however, was as hard as a rock. The room was sparsely furnished. The “partial ocean view” from the room was very partial and not worth paying extra for. In fact, nothing we experienced at the Idyllic Concept justified what we paid for the room. When we checked out we were asked how our stay was. Before we could respond, however, the attendant (Jay) turned to deal with another guest. Pretty well summed up our treatment during our stay. The grounds were poorly kept. Cigarette butts littered the dead grass in the area across from the pool. We even saw dog feces in one spot. The pool was clean in the morning, but by mid afternoon the water became cloudy and sludge collected around the edge. We have always wondered about pools with swim up bars. People stay at the bar in the water for hours without moving. This pool was small for one with a swim up bar. The service at the restaurant was just plain horrible. Tipping did not seem to help improve the situation. For the most part we found the staff unfriendly. There were exceptions, however, and some staff would smile or say “hello. The two upsides we found were that the beach out front has fewer long-tail boats tied up in the water, and the breakfast buffet had a wide range of choices available.

Fantastic hotel
It’s our first time on the island and I did a lot of research and found this hotel the best in our price range. I loved almost everything except the shower situation. Turning on the small shower was a bit of a pain, as soon as you turned the water on it would go everywhere! One thing I found really annoyed and dangerous as the floor was very slippery. I understand I’m not the tallest person but the shower head was most annoying thing I found overall. Wasting a lot of small towels to clean all the water off the floor. Breakfast was ok Drinks ok There another hotel down the beach on the left call coast away, the cocktails are amazing! And happy hour is even better. Overall I’d definitely come back The beach is beautiful thankfully they do not have lots of long boat out side on their side of the beach. The sea is incredible! Even though I did get bitten by a fish! Yes you’re reading it right. Another person staying at the hotel also got bitten. Just be careful. Koh Lipe is a beautiful island and so is this hotel Not great if you’re disabled or unable to do a lot of stairs.

Fantastic hotel! The view from the room is splendid and hotel staff are greatly helpful. The beach iin front of the hotel is so beautiful with white sand. We can walk to Main Street called by “Walking Street” in 5 min and it’s very convenient to enjoy lunch, dinner and shopping. We will return this hotel again.

Was extremely grateful that the hotel granted us with a 1 day delay in arrival without penalty due to a flight delay. The hotel has so much potential waiting to be unleashed. I am writing this as I sincerely hope to see Idyllic's potential maximised. Amazing seaview, beautiful hotel facade, proximity to nice corals, free kayak for hotel guests, spacious rooms are great plus points. Everyone was hospitable especially "Boom" who was featured as the fire dance performer in the hotel video. He chatted briefly with us, telling us where we can go and recommened drinks at the hotel bar. However, the upkeeping of the hotel requires continuous effort. It needs to come from the top. While the rooms are nicely appointed and designed, they arent properly maintained and my I-comfy which cost approx SGD$260/night after tax looking tired. There were dark mould on the sealant of sink, edges of bathroom floor, rust on shower head holder, rusty sink stopper, signs of leaks that might have been fixed but not painted over etc. We were there for 4 days 3 nights and perhaps their hotel GM needs to walk the grounds more often to find out about their stay. A personalised welcome note and drink would have been nice touch points if it has aspiration to be one of the top hotel in Koh Lipe.

This resort could be really great, and probably will be, once it’s totally completed. There was a lot of construction going on around the property, which was a little messy and loud. They seem to focus a lot on the look of the resort, rather than the functionality. For example, the shower sprays all over the bathroom when you use it. I also fell down on one of the decks because it was wet, so i recommend finding flooring with a little more traction. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the beach front was beautiful.

My hubby and I stayed at Idyllic Concept for 1 night... our stay was extremely last minute having booked the ferry to koh lipe the day before. We were unexpectantly welcomed at the docking point on the beach and assised to the hotel by a fun motorbike with sidecar. We were greated with a friendly smile and cool drink on arrival and proceeded to what can only be described as an amazing beachfront location. Everything was beautiful!!! from the amazing villa, breakfast, beachfront ocation with snorkelling. they even helped us change our ferry ticket so we could stay longer. loved Koh Lipe and Idyllic Concept and we will be back!!

Lovely hotel in a chalet overlooking the beach. Paradise! There are building works away from the beach which did not disturb me but could affect others. People with mobility problems may have difficulties. Also decking around the pool constantly covered in puddles. Can be very slippy. Lovely, helpful staff especially Von. Gorgeous food. One of the best chefs ever! Lovely breakfasts. Only problem no food after 9.30pm when everything closes. Still a great holiday.
