Misrepresented and not as pictured
Although the listing sounded like it might be a private apartment it was unclear how to check-in would work. I arrived at the location from the hotels.com address at about 6pm. It was difficult to find but a shop owner at address listed confirmed there was no such apartment. Somebody else tried to help me and suggested it was on the second floor so when I finally looked I found an old, local apartment building with no sign of "Sunshine Garden". A building attendant called the number listed on hotels.com and I was able to connect with a woman who told me that the apartment was not actually there, but somewhere else. She mentioned a three-minute walk but it was actually 10 minutes and raining. I arrived at the new location but still couldn't easily find where this apartment was and she was unwilling to come to the location to meet me. Eventually I was able to find it but the entrance was complicated and I also needed to turn on the electricity from outside of the apartment to get the lights on.
The apartment was completely different from the one pictured. It was easily one third of the size and a tiny loft not an open apartment. There was no balcony, nor bathroom sink. Additional no blockout curtains as mentioned.
Overall a horrendous experience after a 14 hour flight to Shanghai.
