Not a 5 star hotel
Poor maintenance and poor service. Intermittent tv connection and water supply (both hot and cold). No additional towels for pool. Pool is nice.

a rather calming environemnt within the FOrt Canning Park; rooms are spacy and convenient and stuff friendly mostly; the down points are slow service, our of walking distance from downtown and the food selection is rather modest;

Hotel Fort Canning is in a very convenient location. The reception staff were very polite and helpful. However, the attendant at b/f takes your egg order as you walk in and then your eggs are ready - or not as you like ie raw - at your table before you have chosen any other food such as juice or cereal or toast so that the egg dish sits there on the table getting very cold. Why do this procedure? Why not give the guests sometime to eat a little before taking the egg order? Very strange. The building is nearly 100 years old and to make the ensuite for each room, the balcony has been closed in with sheer glass so it's possible to be observed in the shower or on the toilet from outside. There are full length blinds but if they are down, then there is no view or natural light in the room. Some opaque glass at reasonable height would fix the problem on the outside glass as well as the glass b/w the bedroom and the ensuite. Not very well thought out. The hotel is within easy walk of Orchard Road.

I've been coming to the Fort Canning a couple of times per year since 2017. It used to be a fabulous 5-star hotel but after the pandemic is definitely not one any longer. The staff is untrained and not solution oriented. The breakfast is shamefully bad in a culinary mecca like Singapore. Half of the equipment in the gym is broken. The koi fish live in deplorable conditions where they don't have the necessary depth of water, space, or shade. No towels by the poolside or in the gym – you have to request them from reception every single time. Air conditioning barely cools down the room when working at max capacity. Bar grossly overpriced. Whole building, inside and outside, is relatively run down. All in all, it seems that the hotel badly needs a management overhaul.

The room was just like what’s depicted in the pictures - super excellent. Housekeeping was fantastic - super clean. Also enjoyed the fact that Fort Canning Park was just behind. Will be back again if I’m in Sg.

산책하기 좋은 럭셔리한 호텔
경치가 좋은 공원 내에 위치하고 있어 산책하기 좋습니다. 공원 산책로를 따라 클락키와 싱가포르강까지 연결됩니다. 야외에 있는 수영장은 수심이 낮아 수영하기는 불편하지만 큰 무리는 없습니다. 조식은 종류가 많지 않지만 맛있습니다. 객실은 공원전망이었는데 아름답고 통창이라 좋았습니다. 다만 객실 샤워실 내 샤워기가 고장 나 있어 사용이 안되 들고 샤워해야 해서 불편했습니다.

Unique property in large urban park. If you like walking, this is good. In center of city, but if you don't like climbing in hot, humid weather, this is now for you. Hotel, like many businesses in Singapore now, is short-staffed. No porter/bellman at check-in. Most staff were very accommodating and warm.

Forget the average rating and avoid this place. Very run down, service poor, feels like a ghost town, pool with algae in it, staff probably trying but management has gone missing.

I like to stay at places with some history so i was really hoping this was going to be good. I can't complain too much because its a nice hotel but the breakfast was below average and the location was difficult to get to with heavy luggage. I should have listened to my wife and stayed at the marina sands. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful so i don't blame the staff. I can only say it's ok.

Positive- lobster Mac & cheese and Chardonnay, nice clean swimming pool, comfortable bed, good location Negative - property needs some tlc (exterior painting & renovations definitively needed), check in staff seemed uninterested, breakfast buffet had almost nothing left at 10am but still charged full price, housekeeping inconsistent, walking to another building and going down to get pool towels is ridiculous

The stay was pleasant and staffs were friendly in attending to my requests except for a call on the second day where the request was overlooked. The bathtub stopper was unable to release the water. Not many power points to charge. Breakfast was good on day 2.

Hotel Fort Canning - #1
The location of the Hotel Fort Canning is great. Having a hotel in a National Park with such beautiful grounds is even better! The hotel is beautiful. Our room was spacious. The staff were wonderful. Special Thank You to concierge "Jonathan." He always made us feel so welcome. We did not eat at the hotel. It is an easy and gorgeous walk through the park to the downtown. Don't miss the lighted arch walkway at night!

Tired and lost hotel.
Tired hotel with little to recommend it other than the history. Staff seem disinterested and the place needs some good management and investment. No evening meet greet anymore, just an overpriced bar. Rooms need the windows cleaned and some basic maintenance. Access to hotel, if coming on MRT , is not obvious or good for anyone with mobility or health issues. This is not a 5 star hotel by a long way.
