The staff were second to none. Always happy to help and assist where they can. We had issues with a dodgy safe in the room that kept draining the battery and they would sort it immediately for us. The pool was small but not busy so a nice relaxing area should you wish to use it. The gym looked clean and spacious although I didn’t use it. Breakfast there was lots of choice for every traveller. Certain areas in the rooms and bathrooms could maybe do with a re-furb but overall was a lovely stay. Location was great, lots of shopping centres and eating options all within walking distance. Lots of construction close by but that’s the same all over Singapore. Long term goals. New MRT not yet opened. Short walk also to east coast park which is lovely with a beach.

Located in the heart of Katong which offers a lot of food and drinking spots. Check in and out was seamless and the room was bigger compared to the other hotel options nearby with competitive prices. Though the hotel is rather older, it’s still good enough. With a bus stop just outside which offers many bus services to the city center.

Room was clean, comfortable and good size but property is generally dated and in need of facelift. Breakfast, brunch buffet offering was not great and should be replaced with a la carte menu. Hotel is in good location but largely geared to business clients vice tourists.

Our stay was wonderful and the stall went out of their way to help us, thank you Isabel for even getting us transit passes! There is. For amount of road and structure construction on the area it we were never disturbed by noise from it. The supermarket and mall attached was great to have and the Yugoslavian bakery in the basement of the mall is so good!

Great hotel. Close enough to airport (S$15 in a grab) and local restaurants. Staff are lovely and room was clean. Other parts of the hotel were a little tired but overall excellent value

Staff is great as is the location within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, banks, etc. Located above the supermarket so that is nice also. Rooms are large. Only challenge is the wood tile type flooring. Due to the air conditioning and humidity, the floors are wet and slippery at times in the room.

It's a very nice hotel, close to shopping center and other amenities, however, to call the hotel is a problem as the telephone number provided goes to a central call center which is never mended. This is the disappointing part.

Displeased Happening during last night !! What was supposed to be a wonderful family vacation turned into a nightmare for us on our last night at the hotel. Around 12 midnight – we had heard the electricity in the room switch off without a warning, which resulted in a complete loss of power - no light, no air-conditioning (in the heat of Singapore), no WiFi provided, telephone in the room were not working so we weren’t able to call down to reception to enquire immediately and also found that aside from the entrance ceiling light in the room were all completely switched off without a warning, even the 8th floor common areas/corridor and hotel three elevators had no sound and were not functioning. We thought that the hotel staff would inform us if it was anything more concerning. But of course, this meant a restless night as this situation continued until 3am. More ridiculous was the managers' way to us, they insisted to say it's maintenance work and notified beforehand. They showed poor hospitality manner and lacked of profession !

Standards seem to have slipped here. I’ve stayed at this property many times over the years and always enjoyed it, but this time it was not up to the usual standards. Housekeeping was slow, there was poor communication when I returned to the hotel and came across a power outage meaning the lifts were not working. I’ll think twice about returning next time I’m in Singapore.

Want a home away from home with Peranakan beauty
The hotel team were great and entertaining. Often telling stories of their experiences and where best to go to try new experiences, which made them extremely relatable. Mina and her restaurant team were diligent and helpful in accommodating our choices and suggesting what was new and exciting on the menu. Loved the nasi goreng & the rendang which must be the best in Singapore. Please pass on our best to the kitchen staff and Chef David, as the food was better than any hawker stall and local 🍴. The Club Lounge staff were great and made us feel like the hotel was ours, even briefly. Everyone made our stay great and made the hotel proud. To call out anyone, Mina, I already spoke about, and Chandra & Ben made us feel like we could spend quality time in the Club Lounge, even if it was to read a book and catch up on the news with a fresh coffee or coke. We highly recommend the hotel to others. My wife and I spent eight nights in the hotel as a base and caught the bus outside the hotel. I'd recommend it as the best way to see Singapore.
