The notice regarding a potential fine of £160 in the room for setting off the alarm if the steam from the bathroom escaped was a little shocking especially as there was no working extractor! We have never encountered this before! The website photo of the waterway was a bit misleading. Breakfast was limited but restaurant staff were pleasant and helpful. Reception staff were friendly but didnt volunteer breakfast times we had to ask.

The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Basically you need to drive 30 minute to get to York and another 30 minutes to get back. This is very inconvenient if you’re planing to visit or have some business to do in York. It’s cheap but not worth the money.
