What you can expect

The Similan Islands are one of the best known island groups in the Andaman Sea, primarily due to the diverse marine life and vibrant corals that can be found there. It consists of an archipelago of eleven islands. Whilst each has it own name, the authorities assigned each a number for convenience. Islands 1., 2. and 3 are closed to the public due to a turtle hatching protection programme and reef conservation efforts. (Island number 3 actually belongs to a Thai princess.). Whilst not all of these picture-postcard islands are open for tourists to visit, you will experience the good fortune of visiting several of them during the day.

07:00am - Pick up from you hotel/resort in Phuket.

08:00am - Upon arrival at Seastar's private pier (Thap-lamu) you'll meet the Seastar team and your professional, English speaking guide for the day. There is a quick registration process to complete here and you'll pick up your snorkelling equipment for the day also. A variety of complimentary drinks and snacks from the bakery are available here too.

09:00am - Depart to Similan Islands, enjoying the scenery as well as the exhilarating speedboat ride.

10:50am - First stops are made at Island No. 5 and No. 6 so that you can snorkel and appreciate an underwater world with many types of beautiful tropical fish and colourful corals.

11:40am - Next is Island No.4 (Koh Miang) to relax on the beach.

12:00pm - Whilst on Island No. 4 you will enjoy a quality lunch box set.

1:00pm - Depart from Island No.4 and go over to Island No.9 (Koh Ba Ngu) for more snorkelling, this time at either Christmas Point or Namchai Bay, These spots are ideal to see many different fish swimming in the attractive coral reefs.

2:15pm - This visit is to the most well known island. Island No. 8 is aptly named Similan Island. As well as being able to laze on the beach and swim in the delightful waters you can climb up to a view point on the top of the group's landmark Sailing Rock to get some excellent photos.

3:30pm - Depart from Similan Island with wonderful memories that you will treasure for many, many years.

4:50pm - Arriving back at Seastar's private pier you will see a variety of drinks and snacks plus tasty papaya salad, fried chicken and ice-cream all waiting for you.

And when you are ready you will be transferred back to your hotel/resort by comfortable, air-conditioned mini-van

(This programme is subject to change without prior notice according to the tide/weather conditions.)
