What you can expect

National Gallery Singapore - All Exhibitions

As the first museum in the world dedicated to modern Southeast Asian art, our exhibitions present fresh insights to enhance the understanding and appreciation of the art history and culture of the region. Choose from a range of innovative programmes for all ages, one-of-a-kind merchandise at our exclusive museum store and a suite of specially curated dining concepts. All of these are housed in two iconic national monuments - former Supreme Court and City Hall - that have been beautifully restored and transformed into a museum.

The National Gallery provides a unique and dynamic visitor experience that extends beyond the art on display in our permanent and special galleries. This is a must-go for cultural art-lovers!

This November (2018), explore the history and legacy of Minimalism in the exhibition Minimalism: Space. Light. Object. organised by National Gallery Singapore in collaboration with ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands. The first exhibition in Southeast Asia to focus on this groundbreaking art movement, Minimalism continues to have a profound influence on a range of art forms and practitioners across the world today.

Featuring over 150 works of art and spanning two sites, this exhibition traces the development of Minimalist art and ideas from the 1950s to the present day. Themes such as form, colour and spirituality are explored through major works by over 60 artists, including Mark Rothko, Carmen Herrera, Donald Judd, Anish Kapoor, Mary Miss, Olafur Eliasson, Charwei Tsai and Ai Weiwei, as well as Singapore artists Kim Lim, Tang Da Wu and Jeremy Sharma.
