What you can expect

Get a glimpse of Yangon's beauty and elegance with this half-day introductory tour. Explore breathtaking, tranquil pagodas and take the opportunity to visit the National Museum of Myanmar to gain further insight into the city of Yangon.

Be picked up from your hotel in the city and travel to heart of city centre Yangon to see the majestic, octagonal Sule Pagoda. Take in the magnificent view of this pagoda that's said to be more than 2,000 years old; gaze up at its 150-foot (50-m) golden dome.

Next, visit the National Museum of Myanmar, a gorgeous 5-story building containing priceless artefacts such as antique ornaments, jewellery, historical paintings, and relics from the ancient Pyu period (2nd-century BC). While here, take out your camera and snap pictures of the grand throne of the Sihasana Lion and the tall statue of King Bayinnaung, who turned Myanmar into the largest empire in the history of Southeast Asia.

Later, continue your half-day adventure at the Shwedagon Pagoda, the most sacred site in the country. Built to house the 8 hairs of Buddha, this pagoda rises 325 feet (100 m) above the city and is decorated with the finest of elements, over 5,000 diamonds, 2,000 rubies, and gilded with authentic gold leaf.
