Know before you book

  • Strict policy on tour start time - guests who are late will be left behind and we are unable to re-connect them to the ongoing tours. There is no refund for missing a tour due to late arrival. Starts promptly at 5:00pm, ends at 8:00 pm.
  • At least 2 people are required, maximum of 10 for this activity to take place.
  • Dietary Restriction flexibility: Vegetarian, Pescetarian friendly. Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions and if these are allergies (please let us know the severity) or preferences
  • You must be 20 years of age and present a valid photo ID in order to consume alcohol.
  • The operator and its guides reserve the right to refuse or withdraw guests that are unfit to take the tour for any reason, or act in a dangerous manner. A guest's participation in any service will be terminated if the guest breaks any local laws or regulations put in place by Japanese authorities.
  • The operator reserves the right to expel any participant from any service who is intoxicated, acting belligerently, endangering others or behaving in a way which may tarnish or act upon the operator’s reputation or cause distress to third parties, participants and/or individuals.

The Shinsekai district is unique. There is nothing really like it anywhere else in Japan. The area dates back to early 1900’s and grew in popularity through the post war “Showa” era until the 1960’s. Join us on a foodie adventure and explore this colourful area to feel Osaka vibes.

Though people visit from across Japan and around the world, this area is still very much a local spot with many shops, restaurants and gaming parlours catering to the everyday labourers who live nearby. This retro-district is full of inexpensive local dining and entertainment options. Take a stroll with our local expert and discover hidden gems and learn more about the colourful past history of Shinsekai through the years. You will get the chance totry different seasonal and local dishes at 5 different stops. Each item has a long history in the Osaka area.

Shinsekai evokes the SHOWA era in Japan which was full of optimism, growth and a communal sense of building a better future together. There is a lot of romance and nostalgia surrounding this period in modern Japanese history. This vintage area brings back all the charm of 1910 through the 1960’s, a boom period for Osaka City.
